Anyone traveling in the Schengen area would benefit from this app. I make frequent trips through Germany, Austria, Hungarian with long stays in Romania. I’ve experienced significant levels of misinformation in dealing with border authorities, especially in Romania. This app works correctly and helps you avoid misunderstandings. More than that what you cannot see by looking at the app is that the people behind it work very hard to make sure that they are helpful in difficult situations. I was recently given bad information via Romanian officials regarding the 90 and 180 day requirement. This is because Romania only entered into the Schengen treaty on March 31 and many officials do not actually know how it works. I emailed the help department of the Schengen Simple App. They responded immediately with the correct legislation. They also contacted the Romanian embassy to verify that what they were telling me is correct. As you can imagine this was worth far more than eight elders a year to me. I would recommend this app to anyone traveling in the Schengen area.

I use this app so many times when going in and out of Schengen and to keep track of if I’m able to book a tour in Schengen countries. The calendar view shows how many days you have left visa free, which is super important for booking European shows and tours, and the passport officer view gives a clear easy to read number of days in Schengen left. This is really beneficial as I perform in a UK band but I’m a US citizen that tours Europe 3 times a year. I have been asked how long I have been in Schengen by border patrol when exiting, and it is simple to open the app, and give an accurate answer since my passport is near full of stamps. I have even had a few officers at passport control be very happy when they see my very organized calendar in this app. It makes the whole process simpler and easier when visiting, and performing in Europe. I have recommended this app to every other UK and US based musician and fellow wanderlust friends.

If you go to Europe more than once a year, you need to get Schengen Simple. It's the best of the apps and websites that help you figure out whether you can enter the Schengen Zone (which is really most of Europe) and for how long you can stay.On the surface, the rules for how long you can be in the Schengen Zone seem simple: 90 days out of 180, when means that when you leave for 90 days, you can re-enter. However, due to the sliding nature of how this 180 day range is calculated, it gets very complex, especially if you leave the Schengen Zone and re-enter at any time during a visit. It get so complex that I've sometimes had to wait over 10 minutes arguing with the Passport Control Officer at Vienna Airport while they struggle to figure out that I can indeed enter the country. And this has been for very simple scenarios such as when I departed Europe on Dec 10, 2024 and returned on May 1, 2025. Though I had been gone for 142 days, the Officer insisted that I was not allowed in. You would think that they could plug your passport into a computer and get a yes/no answer, but that is not the case! Luckily, she permitted me to access my phone and I showed her my Schengen Simple visit schedule and she finally relented.Having Schengen Simple and being secure in the knowledge that I can indeed be in Europe BEFORE booking a plane ticket is incredibly important, because I can't imagine what would happen if I arrived and was denied entry.While there are many apps that will help you manage planning your Schengen stays, I've found Schengen Simple to be the best and most intuitive to use. It's definitely worth the subscription price and the developer is very responsive to issues and questions.
