Stack. A pad of paper for the thought that needs somewhere to go before it goes anywhere. It has its own tab, and a card can be promoted into a real note if it turns out to be worth keeping. Tap a checkbox in a stack note to tick it. A switch in Settings, Stack, Lists moves ticked items below the ones still to do, when you leave the note rather than while you are writing. On iPad, destinations sit in a bar across the top, with a sidebar behind the button at its left holding everything else: Settings, the smart folders, your types and your tags. Long-press the app icon for New Note, New Stack, New Journal and New Scratchpad. An API response shows its headers above the body, folded away until you want them. A slow iCloud download now tells you it is waiting, instead of looking like the app has stopped. Typing, swiping between cards and the Stack are faster, and your words are safer: leaving a note waits for it to save, a save iCloud turns down is kept and tried again, and anything typed while a save was failing is kept too.
