Draw together in real time, from anywhere! In seconds, anyone can follow along with your drawing or draw with you from the app or on the web. Use Scribble alongside a call; talk with FaceTime or any other app you like.

Draw over pdfs and images. Snap a picture of homework and draw on it, or review a pdf together. Once you are finished, you can save out a new pdf with your annotations.

Work with anyone, even your guests who don’t have an iPad or iPhone. The web app can be used to draw using a tablet, touch screen computer, or stylus. Display your live drawing on a big screen in a classroom or conference room using any browser and a convenient link.

Get on the same whiteboard together in seconds. No registering for an account or adding contacts in yet another app. Once you’ve connected in FaceTime or by phone you can tell your guests to join you using a link or a code, for free, with no messy sign ups.

Control scrolling of the infinite drawing space so that everyone sees the same area at the same time. Whiteboards are unlimited, so you can start fresh for each topic. Unlike a real whiteboard, many people can draw in the same space at the same time!

Point things out as you’re speaking with Scribble’s virtual laser pointer. No more clumsy describing of which part of a picture you're referring to – just use the magical disappearing laser ink. Designate different colors if you and your guests both need to point.

If you’ve got an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, drawing feels especially great in Scribble. It’s like using paper, but you can draw with anyone, anywhere in the world. You can also use Settings to decide what you’d like your finger to do while you have the Pencil in hand.

Can’t draw in a straight line? Neither can we! Scribble helps you draw perfect lines and shapes. Draw and pause without lifting your marker: you’ll see your shape pop magically into a rectangle, circle, ellipse, parallelogram, trapezoid, triangle or straight line.

Inviting people requires Scribble membership, but your guests join you for free. The membership subscription comes free for 2 weeks per monthly subscription, or 1 month per annual subscription. Drawing on your own is also free, and you can keep your whiteboards if you decide you don’t want to invite others anymore.

Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription auto-renews at the same price unless disabled in iTunes Account Settings 24 hours before the end of the period each month. You can go to for instructions to cancel your subscription and turn auto-renew off.

Excellent for remote math tutoring

Scribble Together has been an indispensable tool enabling me to tutor my students in mathematics. My student and I can work on the same digital page as we talk via voice phone. We can see each other’s stylus strokes real time. The laser pointer is great to guide my student to understanding. I appreciate the pen options: colors, stroke width, shapes - being able to make my lines and polygons straight is useful. I can switch between tools with ease as I talk to my student, bringing our work to life. Controls are just right - not too much, which would make navigating cumbersome. It’s a great utility that I can import a worksheet PDF or a photo, and we can work on the sheet together. The app allows great platform flexibility: I run the app on my iOS, while students are able to access it on webpage (for example, using a Surface). Thank you!

The developer did reach out and changed the background option which I really appreciate. I still think offering 1 more payment option would still be helpful. I do take back the greedy part cause apps like these are far and few and I can imagine the amount of work to develop it to be as simple and seamless is very difficult especially as an app. As a designer that works with an international team...this app is invaluable but I don't use it that often. if it had more designer friendly features, I can easily see myself paying for the annual subscription. Developers....hint, hint

There are some big cons with this. First will be pricing...I like the app but the pricing is a bit outrageous cause I would only use the sharing feature every once in a while so being forced into a subscription plan or paying close to 50 bucks for the annual is ridiculous imo. Offering another option to pay for those who wouldn't use it regularly would be great. I hate feeling locked into things. My second gripe is the obnoxious glitter background that makes my eyes go blind. I prefer a simple clean look or at least give the user the option to change the background. We're not all kids using this. Also the laser feature is too thick and needs options as well. I think the idea is great, but the price is a bit greedy and it still needs work.

Developer Response ,

Today we released an update that lets you change the background. We have a sweet star effect or a dark gray look. You can change it by tapping Settings -> Theme.

Sorry the price didn't work for your use. It has taken thousands of hours to build and costs money to run the servers, so we are trying to figure out a sustainable way to keep improving the app.

Even better than Microsoft’s Whiteboard app!

This app is very well made. It is intuitive and has all the features one would expect from an online whiteboard app. I dare say it’s even better than Microsoft’s Whiteboard app. I say this for two reasons:

(1) The thickness of the pen line can be adjusted to a much smaller size than Microsoft’s, allowing you to zoom in quite a ways and still be able to write with precision.

(2) In my opinion, this app is much more intuitive. Nuff said.

Despite all the positives, there are one or two things that I would REALLY appreciate seeing in a future update:

(1) The ability to switch on/off or vary the influence of the “auto-smooth” feature when writing/drawing. Although it helps smooth the lines when writing on a large scale, when smaller and finely detailed writing is required, it really screws you up and makes it hard to write with precision. At the moment, Microsoft’s Whiteboard is easier to write precisely with.

(2) This isn’t a huge deal, but the ability to scroll horizontally in addition to vertically (for a true infinite whiteboard) would be a nice feature to add.

That’s all I got. Overall, fantastic app. It does the job well and it’s the best online collaborative whiteboard I’ve found thus far.

Thanks Developer(s)!

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much!

I hadn’t noticed the problem of smoothing when way zoomed in. I’ll take a look.

The infinite whiteboard is a tricky one to make sure people don’t get lost. Soon we will have a tool to move things around, which might help when you hit the edge of the screen.
