"It's the best Mac weather app."
-- John Gruber, Daring Fireball
Seasonality Core 2.0 is a Mac app any weather aficionado should have. That's because it's probably the most complete and detailed weather software I've ever seen on the Mac.
-- The Unofficial Apple Weblog
I'm a big fan of good weather-reporting software for years but never thought I'd find nirvana so easily. No weather program I've ever tried, for Windows, Linux or OS X, comes within a light year of Seasonality.

Seasonality becomes your weather center. It does everything but control the weather.
Seasonality Core is the complete weather center for your Mac. View weather at any of the 34,000 built-in locations in more than 200 countries, or add your own custom weather location to view even more precise data. Seasonality gives you an accurate 7 day forecast, graphs of past weather conditions, a custom satellite/radar image, and much more.
Seasonality Core's graphs are excellent at showing how weather conditions are changing over days, months, or even years. Seasonality Core will automatically collect and store weather data indefinitely.
The custom satellite/radar image gives users the option to adjust opacity of both overlays, show the latest North American surface analysis, and view the global wind flow with Particle Mode.
Seasonality Core has a solid foundation from being in development for more than 15 years. We always welcome feedback, and have made countless improvements to the software over the years based on user suggestions. If Seasonality Core is missing something, we want to hear about it! Send your feedback to our support email.

Professional & Informative
This is one of the best desktop weather information programs I have found. I would rate it 5 stars this five stars however the program has not been updated in over a year. They talked about some really great features coming a year ago and here we are. I think the program is well worth the price in its current state. I don’t like to spend money on products if I am not confident they are going to be fixing bugs and adding features etc.
Weather radar data is avaiable free of charge, NOAA's site has powerful resourses for viewing and manipulating radar data,
I do like the interface of Seasonality Core however the radar map is very cumbersom and you cannot customize the "feel" as much as I would like, especially with a price point over $20 USD - The loop feature is very buggy and shudders & studders quite a lot.
I would recommend this program for the very basic weather enthusiast but would not recommend it for anyone with even the slightest technical knowledge of meteorology or the manipulation of weather data
Particle Mode Ruined, -1 Star
First, I love Seasonality Core. Really, really love it. Cool, fascinating, visually appealing and educational; overall a wonderful app!
One of the coolest features is Particle Mode which displays the movement and temperature of surface air using small color-coded moving particles (small dots). It was fascinating and highly educational watching how cold and hot air masses interact with one another, how winds move along and over mountain ranges and passes, how storms interact with surrounding air currents, etc.
Now, with the newly added "motion trails" in this version (2.4), Particle Mode runs much slower than before and looks plain awful. The trails are not only annoying and get in the way of seeing details, they are irrelevant; the particles, alone, are and where already in MOTION and TRAILING.
Yes, I can see times turning the trailing feature on would be cool. Turning them off would also be cool. Sadly, however, the developers decided we have no choice in the matter and don't give an option to turn them off.
I still love SC and still highly recommend it despite Particle Mode now being far less appealing. I just hope the developers choose to give us a choice soon and allow us the option to turn the annoying trails off.
