In this build we fixed certain marketplace services, and In-App-Purchase bugs fixed.
We are excited to present our newly redesigned app for iPhone and iPad!
Some things have stayed the same so the interface should be very familiar. For example, we support iOS in-app subscriptions to Seeking Alpha Premium and Push Notifications are grouped by portfolio and authors you follow.
Our portfolio has been vastly expanded, on an iPad you will see much more data and you can rotate the portfolio on iPhone to see the new tabs and columns.
Our new search and sitemap provides access to many additional news and analysis theme pages.
The app no longer has a “notifications inbox”, swipe down to view your notifications in the iOS Notification Center if you prefer the notifications style interface, and use the portfolio and people tabs to view all new content on the tickers and authors you are following.
Please press the “Feedback” link in the app menu to let us know how you like the new app!

Not a fan of new update
Response to SA’s that it’s in the Notification Center of my lock screen - so in order to see the full notification text, you have to swipe down on your iPad or otherwise access your notifications, tap on the notification. leave the app by tapping the notifications on the iPad and then get taken back to some secret area of the SA app to read the full text of the notification. And after all that, the next notification article is not in this secret section, so you have to go back to the notification section of the iPad and start the process again. Why not just put back the notification tab? As it stands now, it makes no sense, is very clumsy and a royal PIA to read the notifications. Very disappointed with this new layout.
The prior version was sleeker. If I needed all this info regarding my portfolio, I’d go to my E*TRADE app. I used SA app for the news and articles plus the notification articles, which are nowhere to be found in the new version. Im the prior version I just tapped on the Notifications tab on the bottom and saw all articles and news related to my portfolio. Also the I see now way to post to the bug forum via the app. So again, not a fan of the redesign.

In the new app, we are making use of the Notification center of your phone to read and remove notifications, similar to the old notification tab. In addition, we enhanced the portfolio tab with a new "All Portfolio" option, which allows you to read all latest content both directly and indirectly related to your portfolio and does not show prices. There are also new articles and news tabs which let you read only articles and news which are directly related to your portfolio. Hope this helps.
I have dropped in on Seeking Alpha on a few occasions, and I am grateful that it is so very, very easy to follow, and I would tell anyone who follows the stock market, take a look you might be pleasantly surprised, I was. So you may not agree with how they handle the stocks, or the information that they achieve, but all I can say, give them a chance. I thought that I had let this come to seeking, but I am terrible sorry for my mistake, and this is not a mistake I will make again. I have had such a great year with the help that this app has given me since I start my stocks. My son, and I have become much closer since we have started this new adventures in our lives. He isn’t doing as much as my husband, and I but still a great feeling. I hope that wherever this takes us, I only want our friendship to continue to grow, and maybe make a little money while we do this. Thanks for such an easy way of following the stocks. Everything should be this easy.
Great user-generated content; poor mobile app
I use SeekingAlpha to read the bull/bear case on stocks I’m considering investing. The free content is pretty good (I’m not a paying subscriber-more on that below), and the average commenter on this platform is well above-average for internet (event financial sites) comments sections.
This app structures all the content around a “Portfolio” you construct when getting started. Not the best idea, but do-able.
Comments- Comments do not show up on most articles when I tap through to either read the whole article or tapping directly on the comments-count bubble. Big miss.
Charts- Y-axis on daily/multi-day/year line charts show seemingly random numbers, rendering the charts fairly useless. Also, there’s no YTD chart option.
Embedded images in articles open inadvertently- when scrolling through articles, if you happen to touch an image, it will open into full screen view. Lots of times, I do not intend to click the image but it opens on an errant tap.
App crashes if you post a comment- In those instances where comments DO load in articles and you contribute a comment, the app crashes once you hit post.
The above major glitches are a key driver for why I haven’t signed up for the pay SA service. If I can’t trust you to get comments and charts right in your mobile app, why would I trust that my experience on the paid content platform would be good?

This feedback is extremely helpful. We are working on fixing the outstanding issues on the app. The current 3.10.7 release is quite significant, although there remains one outstanding issue related to logging out and in again, where some functions of the app start failing.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
