Split big files for AI chats

Only for Mac

Mac

Split huge logs, CSVs and transcripts into ordered, token-aware parts that fit any AI chat's context window. Fully offline, on your Mac. Big files don't fit an AI's context window. A long log, a wide CSV export, a full chat transcript — paste it in and the chat truncates, errors, or silently drops the end. Sheaf prepares those files first: it splits them into smaller, ordered, AI-ready parts that fit the budget you choose, so you feed them in one clean piece at a time. Sheaf is the instrument; you stay in control. It does not talk to any AI itself, send anything anywhere, or need an account. It runs entirely on your Mac. WHAT IT DOES - Token estimate per part and a headline total, so you can see at a glance how each piece lands against a model's limit. - "Split for" presets — Claude, GPT-4o, Gemini, or Custom — each setting a sensible per-file budget you can adjust. - Cut by characters or by lines, your choice. - Whole lines are never split. A log line, a CSV row, a JSON record stays intact in one part. - Lossless: with markers off, concatenating the parts reproduces your original file exactly — byte for byte. - Optional "part X of N" markers that label each file and chain them in order, so a model knows where it is in the sequence. - "Save N parts…" writes every part to a folder you pick, with Reveal in Finder when it's done. - Open With support — right-click a text, log, or CSV file and open it straight into Sheaf. - A Count unit you control: measure in characters or UTF-8 bytes. - Five visual themes. The signature green adapts to system light and dark; four more are crafted light aesthetics. FULLY OFFLINE, FULLY PRIVATE - No network. No accounts. No sign-in. - No analytics, no tracking, no data collection of any kind. - Sandboxed, with access only to the files you explicitly choose. - Everything happens on device. Your files never leave your Mac. WHO IT'S FOR Developers handing a giant log or stack trace to an AI for debugging. Data folks who need a wide CSV in digestible parts. Writers and researchers pasting long transcripts, drafts, or datasets into a chat. Anyone who has hit "message too long" and wants the file split cleanly, in order, the first time. Sheaf does one job and does it precisely: it gets your big files ready for AI, then gets out of the way.
