You will be ready for bed but your brain just won't quit activity. This keep you awake. You need to shutdown you brain but it is difficult because our brains are checking whether it's safe to fall asleep with sense-making activity.
When the brain starts shuffling through a series of nonsensical images, the brain gets the message that it's safe and time to log off and fall asleep.
The technique is called “cognitive shuffling” or known as the concept “serial diverse imagining.”
"Serial diverse imagining" is the method to interrupts negative or stressful thoughts and redirects your attention in order to fall asleep. It's simple. Listen the word, imagine the place, people or scenes.
