ShutterThug is not meant to replace your everyday camera. It is a focused art tool for making fast, deliberate street photographs—for photographers who would rather capture a high-ISO frame now than a technically cleaner frame too late.
This is not a conventional all-purpose camera. ShutterThug keeps focus fixed in a calibrated far range, so the lens does not hunt when you press the shutter. Choose a minimum shutter speed from 1/125 through 1/2000 and Auto ISO absorbs the consequences for as long as the camera permits.
Black-and-white JPEG is the default. The built-in suite also includes Soft and High Contrast B&W, natural color, and negative- and positive-style color looks. No artificial grain is added: when the light falls, the texture comes from the high ISO needed to preserve motion.
Import your own 3D .cube LUTs directly from Files. A selected LUT appears in the live viewfinder and is baked into the processed JPEG, so the frame you see is the frame you get. When RAW Bonus is available and enabled, the optional Bayer RAW DNG remains untouched.

• Switch directly between available physical iPhone cameras.
• Use familiar 24 mm, 28 mm, 35 mm, and 50 mm framing on the main camera.
• Compose with an unobscured view of the complete captured frame.
• Add a simple white frame-edge guide without placing a grid over the photograph.
• Tap the viewfinder to meter exposure without moving focus.
• Use exposure compensation and capability-gated flash when the scene calls for them.
• Review, zoom, share, or delete photographs from the deliberately lazy-loading gallery.
• Transient status messages tell you when every photograph has finished writing.
ShutterThug is deliberately opinionated. It is for candid movement, daylight at speed, rough available light, and photographers who care more about the instant than computational polish.

ShutterThug 1.0.2 adds:
• A redesigned, less cluttered camera interface with lens and minimum-shutter selectors beside a centered shutter.
• Large, quick-select lens and shutter menus that leave the viewfinder unobstructed.
• A spaced utility bar with Gallery at the left, Settings at the right, and shooting controls centered.
• A new tile-based Settings screen for RAW, exposure compensation, flash behavior, frame visibility, and optional capture details.
• A deliberately simplified Lock Screen camera focused on reliable capture: native 24 mm view, 1/500 minimum shutter, JPEG-only single shots, and no live filter processing.
• The selected standard B&W or color treatment is applied to the saved Lock Screen JPEG. Imported LUTs are also applied after capture without burdening the live preview.
• Layout and camera-state refinements across portrait and landscape operation.
