The SimOccluder App is a professional clinical training application designed to control the SimOccluder inline airflow obstruction simulator.
Current simulation methods for respiratory emergencies are limited by static manikins that cannot reflect changing airway conditions. In dynamic scenarios—such as evolving airway obstruction or tension pneumothorax—ventilation often remains unrealistically normal, reducing clinical realism and weakening decision-making practice.
The SimOccluder system addresses this gap by allowing instructors to dynamically modify airway resistance during training scenarios. Paired with the SimOccluder device, the app enables real-time control of airflow obstruction to better reflect patient deterioration or improvement as a scenario unfolds.
Real-time obstruction control: Instantly set airway obstruction as a percentage during simulation.
Trend-based obstruction adjustment: Gradually increase or decrease obstruction over time to simulate evolving respiratory conditions.
Playback controls: Play, pause, or stop obstruction at any point to match scenario flow or learner actions.
Designed for educators, simulation technicians, and clinical training programs, the SimOccluder App enhances realism, supports scenario fidelity, and strengthens clinical decision-making in respiratory and airway management training.
SimOccluder hardware is required to use this application.
