The best audio and voice recorder for iPhone just got better! All new for iOS 12, support for Siri Shortcuts!
SimpleMic is the fast and elegant audio recorder that makes capturing sound on your iOS device a delightful experience. Now featuring iCloud Drive sync, it has never been easier to collect all your audio on all of your devices!
Completely redesigned from the ground up for iOS 12 and with usability in mind, SimpleMic takes advantage of the entire screen to provide gesture based controls atop a beautifully presented user interface. Swipe left or right to start recording and you'll instantly be treated to a vivid glowing level meter as the microphone captures crystal clear audio. Swipe up or down to reveal three different recording modes, each taylor made for specific real-world situations. Ever needed to start recording as soon as the band starts playing or the lecturer speaks? "Sound Activated" mode will quietly wait until the microphone picks up enough sound, then will quickly start recording, even capturing audio from a few seconds prior to make sure you get a perfect recording every time. How about that annoying rattling sound you used to get at the start of every audio recording, you know, that familiar sound of your device being set on the desk after you tap the "record" button and place it down? We hate that too, which is why we also built a "No Motion Activated" mode. Just swipe and place your device where you need to, SimpleMic will wait for it to be completely still for a few moments before starting your recording. No more click-clacks or thuds, just the sweet sounds of your beautiful voice. Finally, if you can't waste even a split second, enable the "Record on Start" option to start recording automatically when you launch the app.
But the awesomeness doesn't stop once you're done recording, SimpleMic is as functional under the hood as it is above. Dive in to the recordings list to access and manage all your audio in one place. Every recording gets tagged by date and geo location, but you can easily choose your own label and add notes. And most importantly, SimpleMic offers some of the most comprehensive sharing and uploading functionality of any such app on the market today. Every recording is stored in iCloud and thus backed up and secure. If you need to get audio files off of your device, we have you covered there as well, all of your recordings will be available on your Mac running OS X Yosemite in iCloud Drive. Or, upload/open the audio files directly to Email, SoundCloud, Dropbox, Evernote, or any other app on your device that supports opening audio files.

SimpleMic: Fast, Elegant, Audio Recording
This is by far the best audio recording app which is transferable and uploaded to your iCloud drive as well as Google drive and numerous other options there’s no time length the audio pick up is extraordinary. The only problem I have is when I’m done recording with the file I really don’t know how I get it to the finish screen where I can go back and look at all the recordings I just have to mess with the screen and something eventually does it but there’s nothing in the instructions thatExplain how to and and say recording sometimes they never got saved other times they did but I can’t so I just have to do a Radick finger movements on the screen and don’t really know how I do it I just have to hope for good luck in that I don’t lose it
Great app for recording on the watch however, on the iPhone, it’s not able to record and stereo
Carrie Schaffer
This app does provide really good quality sound when recording on the watch and the sound is not too bad when recording on the iPhone however, the audio is still in mono and it would be really cool if this app would be able to get an update to allow it to take advantage of the stereo recording capabilities available on the newer iPhones and in the newer operating system. If that happens with the iPhone app, I would be willing to give it a better reading, but for what I can do it is very simple. Also, another suggestion is that there is an Apple Watch app however, unfortunately the app does not have the ability for you to add as a complication on your watch face so that does make it a little more challenging to get to because you have to open the app from your apps list instead of adding a complication to your watch face so if you’re wanting to record something very quickly, you have to have the app open already so that you can start the recording. If you could have the ability on the Watch app to allow the app to be added as a complication to your watch face that would make the watch app even better. Overall, it is a good app and still does give really good sound. They’re also a little bit of background noise that is happening where if that could be brought down and you didn’t hear some of the static in the background that would make the recording even that much clearer. But overall, it is still a good app. I hope this is able to be continued to be developed in the future..
Exact recording app I wanted
LarsVB
I’ve tried several voice recording apps as well as numerous dedicated voice recorders and this app is the best I’ve used. Most importantly, the UX design of the phone and watch apps makes them very quick and easy to use (e.g. minimum swipes or taps to start recording) and everything is sync to a location that allows me to listen to recordings on my MacBook or Windows PCs. The only problem I’ve encountered is not the apps fault - I’ve corrupted recordings on my phone a couple of times by swiping the app away (bad habit) instead of stopping recording first.
Simple to use

After trying out a few similar apps I decided to purchase this one because it’s simple to use. For my purpose I want it to be easy to start recording. The only thing that disappoints me is the lack of a complication, which would otherwise allow me to launch the app easily from the watch face. That’s why I give it three stars.
