Version 1.1 adds a chat panel answered by a language model running on your own Mac. Still an independent engine, still open about what does and doesn't render. A native Mac browser built on Servo, an independent web engine written in Rust. Not a wrapper around someone else's engine. Servo is a genuinely separate rendering path on a web that has been narrowing to two, and smbCloud Browser packages it as a real Mac app — sandboxed, signed, no account, no ads. What's here today • Tabs, windows, and an address bar that searches when what you type isn't a URL • A chat panel answered by a language model running on your own Mac • Bookmarks saved with ⌘D and kept in the app's own container • Reopen the last closed tab with ⌘⇧T • A home page you return to with ⌘⇧H • DuckDuckGo search from every new tab Chat that runs here Choose a model in Settings, download it once, and it answers from your own Mac. Your prompts and its replies are not sent to a server. Fetching the weights does use the network; running them does not. Models are kept in a container shared with the other Onde apps on your Mac, so a model one of them already downloaded is ready here too. Honest about where it is Servo is young. Some sites render beautifully, others break, and a few won't load at all. This is a browser built on an engine still under active development — worth your curiosity, not yet worth your banking. If you want a second browser and you'd like to watch an independent engine grow, this is that. If you need one browser that renders everything, keep the one you have. Built openly smbCloud Browser is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Every release pins one reviewed Servo commit, so what shipped is knowable. Requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later.

A chat panel that runs on your Mac. Open it from the toolbar, pick a model in Settings (⌘,), and download it once. From then on it answers locally: your prompts and its replies are not sent to a server. Downloading the weights uses the network; running them does not. Models are stored in a container shared with the other Onde apps on your Mac, so a model you have already downloaded is available immediately — and deleting one asks first, because they share it. Downloads and model loading run off the interface thread, so a multi-gigabyte fetch never stalls the window, and the model you pick is still there after a relaunch.
