SnapNotes 1.4 is a round of refinements. The piano sounds better, practice flows smoother, and a dozen small requests found their way in. A better-sounding piano Playback now runs through a warm room reverb (adjustable in Settings), and scanned songs play with natural dynamics instead of every note striking identically. SnapNotes 1.3 is our biggest update yet, featuring a redesigned app, chord intelligence, and smarter practice tools. A new design Navigate with real tabs: Home, Library, and Progress. Every song now has its own color, making the library more aesthetic to browse, and Home opens on the song you're working toward with your next milestone in view. Chord intelligence SnapNotes now understands harmony. Free play names any chord as you hold it, and songs display chord symbols above the falling notes. A new trainer builds your skills step by step. These include chords, inversions, progressions, scales, and arpeggios. The trainer can drill the chords from the songs in your own library. Smarter practice - Tempo ladder: master each song at 70%, then 85%, then full speed - Trouble spots: see which bars need work after each run, and tap to loop them - Section loops are now remembered for every song More improvements - Portrait mode: prop your phone on the music rack and enjoy a taller view of the falling notes - Layouts built for iPad - Tap the screen during playback to hide the controls - MIDI keyboards now reconnect automatically after switching apps - Cleaner song titles for imported files - Performance improvements and bug fixes

The big one this update: MIDI keyboard support. Plug your keyboard in over USB or Bluetooth and the app picks it up. It remembers your keyboard too, so after the first time it just connects on its own. In practice mode you'll see wrong notes flash red on the keys. If your keyboard doesn't have speakers there's a new setting to play the sound through the app. Other stuff: - 5 note styles (Pixel and Sketch are my favorites) with matching piano looks and backgrounds - You can use your own photo as the background now - Count-in clicks before playback starts - Songs pick up where you left off instead of starting over - Cleaned up the settings screen - Bug fixes and performance improvements
