SNY: Stream Live NY Sports 4+

I downloaded the app for only one purpose - watching Met games if I was away from home. When I first downloaded it, everything worked fine. Was with a relative in a hospital emergency room and was able to watch the game. No issues, cut to advertisement when a half-inning ended or a reliever was brought in but otherwise great. Worked great for months. But now…..

I will take my phone to other rooms in the house where there is no tv so I can follow the game while I have something to do in those rooms. But in the past week, the app no longer works well. Issues I’ve had:
1) insisting I need to log in to my provider even though it is logged in.
2) freezing after playing the ad right after logging in.
3) going to black. Does this a lot of times. Sometimes right after an adult plays, sometimes in the middle of the broadcast and I miss a play. Have to close and reopen several times yo get it working again and it will repeat a few minutes later.
4) cutting to advertisement or the “back in a moment” screen in the middle of a play. Not a broadcast accident as it has happened even as I hear the tv in the other room continuing to broadcast uninterrupted.

When I first downloaded — worth 5 stars. The way it’s behaved lately, 1 star at best. Will rate it 2 stars.

The app says you must use location, and when I’m in Florida the cable company doesn’t offer SNY. I log in with my cable company info from NJ, but the location must be overriding the log in. If trying to watch live stream, I get a white box stating “an error has occured”. That’s on an iPhone. I get a “not available” blue screen on the Roku TV. VERY frustrating. After years of blackout issues with NBCSports and MLB, I was excited for SNY app, especially when I was able to get live broadcasts the first day. Since then, cannot get live broadcasts. Gary has said, for years, never miss a game. Well, it didn’t work on NBCSports and now it doesn’t work on the new app.
***** Read the fine print: upon launch of app, we were given a 48-hour window to view SNY live. After that, you need to use it in your “home” location, then will be granted a 30-day window to watch out-of-market. That isn’t “watch anytime, anywhere” in my language. False advertising

I have this app for my iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV and exclusively use it to watch the Mets games and postgame show. Across every device the game livestream always seems to freeze. 90% of the time this problem occurs during ad breaks. It sometimes takes a few tries to get the stream back up and running by closing out the app and restarting it, causing me to miss parts of the game which can be extremely frustrating. The fact that the app is not totally optimized for iPad is also slightly frustrating. I was very excited for the launch of this app as I felt it was long overdue, but the execution has been sub par at best. My hope is that SNY can get some of the issues resolved at some point during the baseball season.
