A great resource with some easily addressed usability issues.

I love the app, the content, and have committed to a year subscription. It’s rare to find the kind of high quality material SE Daily presents on a daily basis.

I would also like to see two concerns receive attention. The first is the “View Subscription” view controller where there’s both a “Cancel” button in the top left and a “Cancel Subscription” button in the center. It’s obvious what button does what, of course. At the same time, I wonder why the word “Cancel” was chosen instead of the more ubiquitous “Back” for the navigation button.

Second is the Notifications tab. On the iPhone XS Max, the toggle to enable notifications doesn’t fit within the confines of the View.

I also want to mention how after a restart of my device (XS Max), my progress in a podcast segment was lost. I suspect that this is a consequence of the restart, but I need to test a bit more to be sure. What this highlights for me, is how nice it would be to bookmark a time stamp within an individual episode for later listening.

One last thing, the player controls feel much too close to one another. It’s conceivable that these positions could work, but the buttons could be made smaller, too. Right now the space feels very busy.

Great for audience of any skill level. Definitely created an SE spark for me.

I have always wondered how different apps work from an early age of browsing and poking around online, to more practical data applications while studying petroleum engineering in school. This podcast has been great at giving a behind the scenes view of how software is built, what things are considered, and why they are considered. Even if you don’t get the technical jargon, it’s relatively easy to connect the dots for a dedicated listener with access to google and the curiosity. It inspired me to pursue an information science path within my industry, and it serves as a treasure trove in my current personal studies. Thanks for all you do! And you always have a willing supporter and helper out here in Houston.

Huge asset to my career

If you have not listened to software engineering daily now is the time to start! I’m a Senior Solutions Architect for a very large retailer and this is one of my go to sources for information. By listening to this every morning on my drive to work I’m able to stay up on the latest and greatest tech and keep a broad base while not wasting a ton of time searching online. The app is pretty good. It would be great if I could set up certain tracks and even take notes and such in the app but the most important part is the content and I just can’t say enough!
