When calling or typing isn’t possible, press SOS. Trusted contacts receive a live map by SMS they can open in any browser. SOSPoint helps the people you trust know where you are when you can’t call or text. Add up to five trusted contacts in advance. When you press SOS, SOSPoint sends them a text message with a live map showing your location. Your contacts don’t need to install the app or create an account — they simply tap the link in the message. Use SOSPoint in moments that feel wrong, uncertain, or unsafe: • someone seems to be following you • a rideshare or taxi takes an unexpected route • a date or meeting stops feeling comfortable • you’re walking alone at night • you’re traveling in an unfamiliar place • you want someone trusted to know where you are without starting a call or group chat What SOSPoint does: • sends your SOS location by text message • shares a live map with trusted contacts • lets recipients open the map in any browser • allows contacts to open directions to you from their phone • keeps the last known point visible if connection is interrupted • lets you stop sharing from the app at any time • keeps SOS active for up to 5 hours SOSPoint does not use always-on tracking. Your location is shared only when you activate SOS. SOSPoint is not an emergency service and does not contact 911 or local authorities. It requires internet and GPS access; SMS delivery and GPS accuracy can vary. In immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first. Improved SOS reliability on weak or unavailable networks. Account, subscription, and trusted-contact information now remains available after an online sync, even when the device is offline. Fixed trusted-contact loading and duplicate push notifications. Improved subscription status refresh and SOS recovery after reconnecting.
