Great, but needs improvement.

This is a fantastic app, but there are definitely things that would make it substantially better. There is no way to rotate the map. One must physically get up and walk around it. Maybe consider doing a street view feature as well. Can we move the search bar independently from the map so it's at eye level while seated? When typing in an address can we have it zoomed in closer? I still have difficulty finding the specific location because it's zoomed out too far. And let's not forget about the frequent crashing. It's a good start, but there's room for improvement.

Thank you for your feedback. Map rotation is being worked on, as is street view.
The menu is currently locked within the same volume as the app - we plan to make this an independent window in the future, so the menu can be moved anywhere you wish.

Close.. but not quite there.

The one app that I sorely miss on the Vision Pro that other PC VR headsets have is of course Google Earth VR. This is close. I understand the concept of the Vision Pro is AR and not fully immersive environments, but for things like this, I believe a fully immersive environment would work better… or at least the option if you so choose.

The app would benefit from additional navigation. I understand that I am supposed to walk around the edge of the map to look at different angles, like it is sitting on my desk, but also… why? I should be able to rotate the map and not be stuck looking in one direction unless I physically walk around the app. Lazy? Maybe, but I feel the app would be better with that ability.

Finally, the textures are loading in a weird way. I will sit to allow them to load all the way, and it is still bad quality. Not quite sure what the problem is, but it isn’t as smooth or as high quality as normal Google Maps.

Keep developing! This is a good start.

Thank you for your feedback. If/when VisionOS allows this, a fully immersive environment is definitely an option we'd like to add. We're currently working on map rotation, so you can expect this sooner than later. As for the texture loading: We're currently reverting to low quality textures whenever you move the map and only load high res ones once the map is static, in order to have fluent and smooth map movement / zooming. As we improve the performance of the app, we'll be able to hopefully display high def content all the time,

Very nice app… would be fantastic with added immersive street view imagery

...and would be even better with the choice of the superior Apple “Look Around” imagery, *plus* the ubiquitous Google “Street View” data. Probably asking too much, but I would pay significantly more for this upgrade (even with just the Street View data added).
