Description
Specialized Ride is your go-to app for recording bike rides, analyzing your cycling metrics, planning rides with friends, and cycling safely when riding by yourself.
BE SAFE ON YOUR RIDE
Have peace of mind on all your bike rides when you connect your Specialized ANGi sensor with the Ride app and enable Live Tracking.
If your ANGi detects a crash event where you’ve likely been knocked unconscious, your emergency contacts will be sent an email or text alert from your phone and notified of your location.
Live Tracking allows your emergency contacts to follow you along during your ride. Simply turn on ride alerts for an emergency contact and the app will automatically notify them when you’ve started a ride.
RIDE RECORDING & POST-RIDE ANALYTICS
Whether you’re training for a race or event, using your bike for commuting or getting around town, or to explore the trails with your friends, you can use the free ride recorder to track all of your bike rides.
The Ride app automatically tracks stats like speed, distance, time riding, and elevation. When you’re done riding, you can view the ride history and analytics tabs to see how your activity is trending.
We offer full integration with Garmin, Wahoo*, and Strava, so it’s extra easy to record rides and share them with your friends.
If you have a heart rate monitor, cadence sensor, or power meter connected to your Garmin or Wahoo device, you can see that data as well.
SPECIALIZED BIKE REGISTRATION AND WARRANTY ACTIVATION
Although you can record a cycling activity on any bike using the Ride app, riders with Specialized bikes can use the app to register their bike and activate its warranty.
COMMUNITY EVENTS & GROUP RIDES
Be on the lookout for community events, bike demos, and more on the community tab in the Ride app’s feed.
If you enjoy riding with others, you can join and create group rides in the Ride app. The group message board lets you communicate with riders who’ve joined the ride and keeps everyone informed.
When you’re looking for a ride to join, you can search for rides based on day, time, type, and distance.
If you want to create a group ride, you can import a route, choose an existing route, or create a route using the route planner.
ROUTE LIBRARY & ROUTE BUILDER
If you need inspiration for your next ride, the Ride app hosts an ever-growing global library of bike routes.
Additionally, we have an easy-to-use route builder tool that is housed on ride.specialized.com.
Once you’re done creating a route, you’ll be able to add it to any group ride that you plan. Riders interested in joining will be able to see a map view of the route, as well as distance, elevation, and whether the route is on road, gravel, or the trails.
NOTE: Continued use of GPS running in the background may decrease phone battery life
*Incoming Wahoo connections will need to be established on ride.specialized.com

Ratings and Reviews
Needed for Angi
I downloaded this mostly for the Angi crash sensor integration, but as a ride tracking app, it’s reasonably ok. Suggestions to make it even better (hope the devs are reading this): (1) make the “in ride” on screen buttons bigger and easier to tap when cycling, (2) currently the app auto pauses recording as soon as you stop moving. Suggest an option to turn this on and off - allow download and saving of maps for offline use, (3) don’t allow the iPhone to go to sleep while the app is running
Underwhelming...
Specialized... with all their R&D and resources has grossly under delivered with this app and aNgi technology. The aNgi device is now 4 years old, and we still don’t have Apple Watch integration, still have to shake our head, or helmet violently to get the device to wake up, and still have to open the app... and ride with our phones. With Apple Watch fall detection, and Strava Beacon... this ANgi technology is completely useless. What’s more, Specialized now charges more for their aNgi equipped helmets, adding insult to the overpriced, useless device. Much like the new Aethos, I’m struggling to understand why the cycling industry needs these products from the Big S. Specialized is attempting to fill a void, that never existed to begin with. No frills bikes already existed, albeit at an affordable price... and crash detection apps/devices already existed, and worked exponentially better than ANgi. These products are fails... highly suggest researching their “need” before purchasing.
Developer Response ,
Hi Paul - We’d like to get some additional feedback from you on integrating with Apple Watch. If interested, please reach out to us at RideApp@specialized.com with your answers to the questions below.
1. Can you tell us a little bit more about what kind of integration you would like to see between the Ride app and your Apple Watch?
2. What features or information are you looking for from your Apple Watch?
3. Do you want to see information coming from your Apple Watch on the Ride app while recording a ride, or do you want to see this information on the Ride app analysis of your ride?
4. Are there any examples of other apps that do this well that you would like us to look at?
Won’t connect to Strava or show my ride history
I got this app to connect to my crash sensor, and recently tried to connect it to Strava so that I could post the ride data. It will not open my activity, I just get a constant loading circle. When I try to connect to Strava it gets stuck sending me back and forth to the Strava app without ever actually connecting. I wish I could just connect the sensor to my Apple Watch and have it run through apple fitness, as this app chews through data and battery in the background just to allow me to use a device I had to pay $50 for. I love Specialized, I’ve ridden one for 15 years, but some tech support is greatly needed.
