Spelling for UK primary school: Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, Years 1 to 6. HOW IT WORKS 1. You sign up as a parent or a teacher and add a profile for each child. 2. You build a word list - this week's spellings from school, or import a National Curriculum list. 3. Your child opens the app, enters your family code and their own 4-digit PIN, and practises. Children never have an email address or a password. They cannot sign themselves up, message anyone, or reach the subscription screen. FOUR WAYS TO PRACTISE - Digital Mode: the word is read aloud, your child types it and sees straight away whether it is right. - Paper Mode: the app reads the list aloud at a set interval - 5, 10, 15 or 30 seconds - while your child writes on paper, the way a spelling test actually happens at school. You mark it together afterwards. - Competition Mode: race against the clock. - Review Mistakes: practise only the words that went wrong last time. YOU SET THE RULES - Kids Lock, held behind your PIN, with the back button disabled - A practice time limit from 15 to 60 minutes, and a daily word goal - A cap on words per session - Word order: sequential, random, or mistakes first - Visual hints on or off; marking strict, standard or lenient - Larger text for younger readers Every child gets their own settings. PROGRESS YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ Word-by-word mastery, accuracy, daily streaks and 51 achievements to unlock. The parent dashboard shows exactly which words each child has cracked and which ones still need work.
