Love the app... super easy to use and intuitive. With this last update, the functionalities are there but the user interface is not user friendly. Before, each transaction added, the budget and hire much is left is clearly shown on top so you can easily track your spending. Now the monthly budget and more importantly the amount of the budget remaining is hidden and you have to click on another screen to see it. This might seem trivial but the point of having a budget app is to teach how much you spend and hopefully stay within budget. So why hide the budget remaining? Hoping this can be revised... it’s very annoying to have to switch to another screen to see your budget with each transaction. So annoyed that I might switch to another budget app.

To effectively manage a budget, i have to be able to look at the budget DAILY and see that I am on track. This is not feasible now because major purchases unnecessarily throw me off budget. For example, if I buy today a $5,000 family getaway including airline tickets and hotels, and the trip is scheduled to occur next year, I’d like to be able to spread the $5,000 across the specific days of the trip. Similarly, if I buy a sofa or a new iPhone, or a car(!). I now have this major purchase that unnecessarily throws me off my monthly, and possibly annual budget. If I could spread the expense across its lifetime, that problem goes away. This would enable me to look at the budget daily, and see how I’m doing. Specifically, what I need is: in the budget view the ability to set an accrual schedule for a transaction - when does it start, and across what period to spread it. This feature already exists for Cash transactions. All Spendee needs to do is enable this logic in the Budget view. So I spread the iPhone across, say, 4 years. And I spread the getaway package across 2 weeks, starting on the first day of my getaway.

The app is okay. I paid for the lifetime access ($50 Black Friday sale) because I didn’t want to get stuck paying every month or year like most other finance apps. Maybe I should’ve now. App doesn’t automatically synchronize, you’ll have to refresh access or delete and add your bank accounts for it to show updated information. Also when created a budget you cannot edit the dates of transactions. It uses when the transactions are posted and note when you spent the money and with no edit date feature even on the web app, your budget for a month will not reflect actually. It works, but some of the main things I need aren’t really working with are the automatic sync and edit transaction dates for my budget. Great if you don’t need to create a budget and just want to see what you’re spending on and how much. So, I guess I can still manually do it, but that was the purpose of getting this app.

I tried out a bunch of different apps to meet my needs. I just needed a simple app where I could add recurring expenses along with other one off expenses and see how much money I have left to spend for the month. This does that and more. Love the design and the user experience. My only suggestion would be to let users pay a one time fee of 2-3 dollars for every member they want to share their wallet with. I don’t really need any of the other premium features. Really an excellent app though!Another suggestion would be to allow users the ability to see the amount of money they will have left to spend for future months instead of waiting for the month to end before I get to see the current month. This will allow users to prepare for upcoming recurring expense and purchases.
