SpiceCore 1.1.2 introduces the Berlin 2026 Pack: a curated collection of event-season factory presets and a new Demo Jam Mode for quickly auditioning them, and UI polish from the 1.1 series. The Berlin 2026 Pack is a small collection of event-season sounds, patterns, and generative patches created to celebrate synth week in Berlin. Ten new factory presets span Bass, Lead, Pad, and Sequence categories, with a mix of sequencer-driven jams and Motion Arp performances. A small banner appears in-app through May 10, 2026. Demo Jam Mode gives the Berlin 2026 Pack a dedicated showcase flow. Enables self-running audition immediately, and lets you step through all ten jams. For Motion Arp mode, it starts playing without needing to hold keys, so you can hear each patch in motion right away. Also in this update: MIDI output handling refinements and reset button fix.

SpiceCore 1.1.1 opens up the oscillator section with continuous Shape control and a new Timbre performance layer. The old waveform buttons are now expressive Shape strips. Tap Sine, Triangle, Saw, or Square to land on a classic oscillator tone, or drag between them to find the in-between colours: softened saws, brighter triangles, rounded squares, and hybrid tones that were not available from the four fixed choices. Each oscillator also gets a Contour control. Contour changes the character inside the selected shape: add warmth to sine waves, skew triangles, tilt saws, or narrow square waves into pulse-like tones. It gives the oscillator panel more range without making the instrument harder to use. The macro section now includes a Timbre button. When Timbre is active, the four macro faders shape oscillator colour instead of phrase behaviour. Motion, Density, Chaos, and Memory can sweep Shape, open Contour, add animated variation, or keep a patch drifting around related tones while the sequencer or Motion Arp is running. Shape and Contour can now be modulation destinations too. Long-press them like other controls and route LFOs, envelopes, velocity, aftertouch, randomness, ArpStep, or ArpVelocity into oscillator colour. Live overlays show the sound you are hearing while keeping the saved patch value visible. Ten new factory presets — across Bass, Lead, Sequence, Drone, Texture, and Arp — are included to show what the new controls can do straight away. Also in this update: clearer oscillator labels, improved touch hit areas, calmer MIDI Learn highlights, better active-state colouring across the synth panels, and layout polish in the oscillator section.

Motion Arp is here. Hold a chord and hear it turn into living musical motion — no step pattern required. SpiceCore now has three ways to generate notes. The existing 16-step Sequencer and evolving Mutation engine are joined by **Motion Arp**, a playable chord-motion generator that responds to what you actually play. Hold a triad, choose a motion mode, and the arp traverses your held notes with real musical intent. Change the chord and the arp voice-leads into the new pool smoothly, or restart on the next bar, or carry the contour over — you control the behaviour with the Memory macro. Five motion modes cover different musical characters: Climb, Fall, Pendulum, Order, and Voice-lead. Two rhythm engines give you straight subdivisions with swing and gate, or switch to Motif mode and pick from eight curated musical gestures — from classical Alberti figures to cascading octave runs — each adapting to whatever chord you hold. Six action pads turn the lower button grid into a performance surface: Freeze the current chord, send the pattern home, add a burst of ratchets, invert the chord, spread across octaves, or capture the last 16 arp events straight into the step sequencer for editing. Everything snaps to step boundaries so your gestures land musically, not glitchy. The same four macro controls now retarget for Motion Arp: Mutation adds articulation variation, Density thins the phrase, Chaos opens the door to scale-passing tones, and Memory sets how chord changes behave. Two new modulation sources — ArpStep and ArpVelocity — let you route the arp's position and dynamics into any knob or fader. Six new factory presets in a dedicated Arp category demonstrate the feature from clean utility to expressive pad textures. All Motion Arp settings save with presets and restore inside AUv3 hosts. Existing presets load unchanged — the arp is off by default and never touches your existing sounds.

Performance improvements and a cleaner output stage. This update lowers CPU load across every preset and play style — most noticeable at high polyphony, high resonance, or fast filter modulation — and refines the output-stage peak limiter so resonant patches and dense chords stay cleanly inside the output ceiling without the subtle clicks that could appear on quiet pads and drones when new notes entered the mix. No sound design changes, no new controls. If your patches sounded right in 1.0.9 they sound the same here, just with more headroom on the CPU and cleaner peak handling at the output.

Preset import is smoother. You can now open or share `.slpreset` and `.slsndpack` files directly into SpiceCore from Files, and the app stages and imports them through the normal preset flow. MIDI performance is more expressive too: the modulation matrix `Aftertouch` source now responds to both channel pressure and poly aftertouch. Existing patches that already use `Aftertouch` work without changes. A built-in default MIDI CC map covers the core continuous synth controls right out of the box — MIDI Learn still wins if you've assigned your own CCs. You can now long-press the on-screen keyboard to set the sequencer's root note. The engine has had a quality pass. Voice stealing is now quietest-first, so new notes no longer chop held notes you still care about. Note-on clicks have been eliminated, and MIDI events now render correctly. A per-voice mix headroom cap keeps stacked-source patches cleanly in range. A new subtle three-state LED next to the amp envelope shows when the output stage is idling, limiting, or being pushed hard — the old user-facing output character modes have been consolidated into a single honest calibration.

Hooray! Major AUv3 improvements. Programmable tempo: the sequencer is no longer locked to 120 BPM. A live BPM display and sync source indicator (INT / MIDI / HOST) in the header bar show where your tempo is coming from. Tap the BPM label for tap tempo, or long-press it to type an exact value. Each preset stores its own tempo for groovebox-style recall. Improved AUv3 experience. The sequencer now works reliably when the host transport is stopped: Free mode (default) lets it play immediately on Run, while Sync mode locks it to the host's play/stop: long-press Run to switch. Presets appear in the host's own preset browser, and preset identity (name, edited state) is fully preserved across project save/reload. Parameters like waveform selectors and play mode now show readable labels in Logic Smart Controls. The on-screen keyboard is hidden in AUv3 since the host provides MIDI. Importing a preset that already exists now asks for confirmation instead of silently overwriting.

Fixed a bug that prevented importing presets and sound packs

Fixed a bug where Mono and Unison modes could go silent when pressing a key repeatedly during the release tail. Fixed audible clicks when the Random (S&H) LFO modulates filter cutoff at higher Circuit values. Added a help button in the header bar that opens the online manual. System edge gestures (Home indicator, Control Center) now require a double swipe so they don't interfere with the on-screen keyboard, content now extends to the screen edge. Panel labels (OSC 1/2, HP, LP, LFO 1/2, Sub, Noise, Drive, Circuit, and more) now change color to show whether the component is having an audible effect, gray when inactive, red when active. Taller on-screen keyboard for easier touch play. Improved sequencer controls layout with labeled steppers, visual group dividers, and Key/Scale ordering. Expanded online instrument manual with signal flow diagram, MIDI implementation table, troubleshooting guide, and glossary.
