Stampdrill is an HTTP client for people who would rather read a request than click through one. Requests live in plain .stamp text files. Open a folder of them and Stampdrill gives you a native Mac workspace to edit, send and check them, while the files stay readable in any text editor and reviewable in a pull request. VARIABLES WITH MORE THAN ONE DIMENSION Instead of a flat list of environments, describe the axes your API varies along, such as environment, region or tenant. Pick a value for each, or * for any, and the right variables follow. Personal values like your own tokens stay in a separate file on your Mac. SCRIPTS AND TESTS • Assert on status, headers, JSON bodies and timing • Pass values between requests, and run dependencies automatically • Write your own functions and use lambdas like map, filter and sortBy • Test plans with steps, loops, conditions, retries and timeouts, repeated over a matrix of dimensions and CSV or JSON data • JUnit, HTML and JSON reports LOAD AND RACE CONDITION TESTS • Virtual users with ramp-up and think time • Pass or fail thresholds on p95 latency, error rate and throughput, charted live • Start actors at the same instant to catch double spends and lost updates SAMPLE DATA • Realistic names, emails, addresses, companies, prices and dates • Related records that belong together, and bodies generated from JSON Schema • Set a seed and every run sends exactly the same data MORE THAN REST • WebSockets, scripted and shown as a conversation • GraphQL operations with variables • STUN and TURN checks for WebRTC servers • Forms and file uploads • Bearer, JWT, Basic, API key and OAuth 2 authentication MADE FOR DEVELOPERS • Import OpenAPI 3 and Swagger 2 documents into request files • Tokens, passwords and secrets in responses are blurred until you click them • JSON as text or a tree, plus previews for images, PDFs and HTML • Copy any request as cURL • Existing .http files are read too No account, no analytics, no tracking. Stampdrill sends the requests you write and nothing else.

A run now writes one HTML report that a browser draws and a build server parses. Every measurement is in the markup, so the file a pipeline reads is the file a person opens: plans with every step and check, a race with its actors on one clock, and a load test with throughput, latency and active users charted. Export writes it from a finished test plan or load test, and the command line writes it with --html. The variables panel is the full height of the window and slides in and out, with the line between it and the request to drag. One control in the header says which combination of dimensions the requests run against, and opens a list to change any of them. Response times read as measurements rather than as columns of digits. A plan and a load test both show one row per request, slowest first, each on a bar scaled to the slowest, so the one worth looking at is the one your eye lands on. A plan that ran once shows one time instead of repeating it three times. Export is a control beside the run button in both. The example workspace varies along Env, Region and UserGroup, which is what an API client is usually pointed at, and every value of every dimension changes something you can see.
