Stillfern: Focus Timer

Grow plants while you study

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.

Grow a plant each time you focus. Start on iPhone, or from Apple Watch® with your iPhone nearby. There's no pause button: stay with it and the plant joins your grove. Stillfern grows a plant while you focus. Turn the dial to choose how long, and the plant in the middle shows the stage that session will reach. Start, put your phone down, and come back to it grown. Sessions are strict. There's no pause button. Spend more than 10 seconds in another app, on the Home Screen or in Notification Center, and your plant withers. Locking your iPhone doesn't count as leaving when it asks for your passcode as soon as it locks, which it always does with Face ID or Touch ID. Grown or withered, every plant stays in your grove. TURN THE DIAL, SEE THE STAGE Drag around the ring to set 10 to 120 minutes. The plant in the center changes as you go, so you can see what a 25-minute or a 90-minute session grows into. FAVORITES IN ONE TAP Save a plant, a tag and a length as a favorite, then tap it once to begin. The first 10 seconds can be cancelled. PLANT AGAIN, RIGHT AWAY When a session ends, your leaves are already counted and the plant is already in today's grove. There's nothing to claim. Tap Plant again to start the same session. On the Lock Screen card, tap Plant again after the session ends and confirm with Face ID or your passcode. YOUR GROVE See every plant you've grown by day, week, month and year, with your total focus time and your time per tag. EIGHT SPECIES TO GROW Wood sorrel, field poppy, foxglove, yarrow, iris, thistle, hollyhock and lyreflower, each adapted from a classic botanical plate, with four growth stages and a withered state. Every focused minute earns a leaf, and new species open as your lifetime total grows. Species one to four are free to earn; five to eight also need the Full Catalog purchase. Leaves are earned by focusing and can't be bought. APPLE WATCH Stillfern also has an Apple Watch® app. With your iPhone nearby, set a session with the Digital Crown or tap a favorite, see your plant grow on your wrist, and tap Plant again when it's done. Your iPhone runs every session, so there's one grove and one count. Complications show today's focus time and the session in progress. ALSO INCLUDED - A Live Activity and Dynamic Island with your plant and the time left - Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets - Stopwatch mode - An optional 5, 10 or 15-minute break after a session - Tags with your own names and colors - Your own phrases to see during a session FULL CATALOG Everything above is included, and so are species one to four, earned by focusing. Full Catalog is a one-time in-app purchase. It adds Iris to your plant picker at once and opens species six to eight to earn by focusing, at 1,500, 2,100 and 2,800 lifetime leaves (about 25, 35 and 47 hours of focus). Leaves you've already earned count toward them. It never sells leaves or grown plants. There's no subscription and there are no ads. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS There's no account and no sign-in. Your history is kept on your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud, so it comes back on a new iPhone. You can export it as a CSV file anytime.
