The app didn’t work
It was November 2, 1963 at 12:30 pm in Dallas, Texas when I was riding with my friends in my car down dealy plaza, having a grand time. Suddenly i looked at a building to my left and saw my buddy Lee Oswald holding what appeared to be a water gun. Recognizing this as a devious prank, I immediately pulled out my phone and opened the Stopit app to report Lee and sent the complaint out. Unfortunately, the admin failed to act in time to prevent the prank, and I was tagged by lee. I noticed that he had filled the gun with red-colored water as everything looked red at the time. Since the event I have experienced strange phenomena like floating and walking through walls, although I have no idea why. I did not see Oswald again, so I assume he was eventually put in his place and disciplined accordingly. Still, it is sad that Lee was able to go through with his epic prank as he could have hurt my friends feelings or even injured somebody. I hope in the future the people at Stopit take complaints like mine more seriously. And remember:
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country

Fine Idea, Poorly Executed
This app was a decent idea, but from what I’ve seen the anonymity is being abused. If you report someone, you are typically told to tell a teacher or principal. What’s the point of keeping STOPIt anonymous if you end up talking to someone face to face. Just tell an adult directly instead of going through the process of reporting someone. I also don’t particularly like what usually happens once a student is reported. Even if they didn’t do anything wrong, they are searched, sometimes pulled out of class, and watched closely for the rest of the year. It would certainly make me feel uncomfortable and anxious to know that what I do is being monitored frequently. I just wouldn’t feel safe. This app also allows bullies to report other students and get away with it. This is again because of it being purely anonymous. If this app is new to your school, you should be worried about who you’ve had problems with in the past. Don’t put any targets on your back, because chances are, you’ll be reported. StopIt is being used as a threat by students, not a way to help them.
