Description

Lost, alone and separated from family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten city.

Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by curious droids and dangerous creatures.

See the world through the eyes of a cat and interact with the environment in playful ways. Be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants of this mysterious world.

Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone, known only as B-12. With the help of this newfound companion, the duo must find a way out.

Stray is developed by BlueTwelve Studio, a small team from the south of France mostly made up of cats and a handful of humans.

Absolutey phenomenal game

Wow, I can't believe I put this one off for so long. I ended up finally giving it a shot now that it's on Mac and it's fantastic. This game does a fantastic job of capturing the curiosity and silliness of a cat, yet also manages to put you in a dark world that keeps you on your toes. Despite the cat obviously not talking, only meowing, it still manages to be a compelling character, and the robotic compantions are filled to the brim with lore. The story is deep yet easy to understand, and even emotional at times. The graphics are also great too. There was some stuttering in the beginning around the slums but otherwise great performance. I would absolutely play again, and you should give the game a try for sure.

Loved it - but read the review

My wife and I approach games differently. She likes narration, storyline, and increasing difficulty.

I like to be immersed. I enjoy it when the difficulty ramps up, but dislike it when the only reason is to prolong gameplay.

Stray is beautiful and engrossing. The challenges were more "leg-work" than anything, but any frustration was definitely rewarded.

Cinematics were top-notch. Our only "complaint" was we wish it were longer. Took my wife 7 hours, took me 8 (I peruse and look at EVERYTHING)!

Defiitely worth the money. Wish the end had a bit more complexity, would have like a better "final view" before the screen cuts to black. Overall, would recommend, definitely enjoyed.

On an added note, not a lot of games are calming anymore. I found Stray to be very relaxing - and not in any "put you to sleep" kind of way.

This game is so mid

I thought this was going to be a relaxing adventure game. That's how I've always seen it marketed at least and why I was willing to spend the money to see for myself... I also should have read the reviews because I wasn't aware this game was so short. $30 for this? Trash. This game had so much potential, but there are so many high stress parts where you have to run away/fend off these bionic mutated bacteria rodents but theres no actual combat gameplay which makes this aspect of the experience just annoying and generally unpleasant. The concept? Brilliant. The aesthetic? Otherwordly. The storyline? Interesting enough. Being chased by aggresive bionic opossums? Irritating and just plain unnecesary. 2 1/2 stars from me
