Take command of a Cold War–era attack submarine in Subversion, a faithful iPad revival of the 1992 DOS classic from Captain Byte's Bit Shop and Point of View Computing — rebuilt from the ground up for touch, without losing what made the original tick. Every system on your boat is yours to manage, turn by turn. Plot a bearing and fire torpedoes from the torpedo room. Launch long-range missiles from the silos. Ping active sonar to reveal what's out there, or run silent and hope the destroyers lose your scent. Adjust ballast to change depth - go deep to dodge depth charges, or surface for repairs, at your own risk. Send frogmen ashore to sabotage enemy shipping. Decode IFOF transmissions before you decide whether that contact is a friend or a torpedo. And when the damage reports start piling up across seven separate systems, you'll need to decide how long you can keep fighting before it's time to abandon ship, self-destruct, or surrender. None of it is scripted. Every depth charge run, every sabotage mission, every torpedo shot draws on the same probability tables the original game used in 1992 — so no two patrols play out the same way, and the tension of "is this the shot that finishes me" is exactly as real as it always was.
