Subwords is an exciting mix between a trivia and a word game. Words are split into syllables and you have to put them back together as fast as possible. The words in every level are bound to a certain topic, so you have to know about the topic to solve it. But it's no problem if you aren't that familiar with a specific topic: Simply click the bulb to learn something new!

- 45 levels, ranging from animals and fruits to European countries, our solar system or greek mythology etc.
- 20 bonus levels built specifically for kids up to an age of 8 years.
- Two modes: Classic and Timed!
- Fully accessible via VoiceOver and Voice Control
- Learn spelling and syllabification of words, plus new vocabulary!
- Head control: Play the game by just moving your head! (Requires a device with a TrueDepth camera)
- Play in different languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian)

Version 1.4.8

Also excited who will grab an Oscar? I definitely am, but I'm very bad with actor names. That's why the new topic is about: Actors & Actresses! Enjoy!

Great fun! Requires some thinking.

I like this game a lot! I just lost 1 1/2 hours to it when I meant to play for 15 minutes.

One reviewer said this is a trivia game. I will agree, but many of the words can be found by eliminating the ones you know first. Of course if you slept through chemistry and geography (and life), I guess you’re screwed. Try another game.

My only complaint is that there are levels locked that I really wish I could bypass, like the Solo Artists category; I listen to Alternative (all years), Classical, and Classic Rock. Since many of the names are from Pop Singers, this one took me several replays until the same names came up again such that I could remember them. (I will forget them tomorrow; I since I don’t listen Pop except for crossover songs, like Twenty One Pilots, Muse, and Nothing But Thieves. And, yes, I know I am a snob.) BUT, even this complaint doesn’t stop me. Since you can try each level again (and again if necessary), you should be good.

I would classify this as a trivia/word/challenging/fun/addictive game.

Thanks for the review! Super happy to hear that you've liked the game!

I need to clarify something about bypassing levels. Every level is locked behind a certain amount of stars. You can get up to 3 stars for completing a level in classic mode and up to 3 more stars for completing the same level in timed mode. The first six levels are unlocked from the start. You need a total of 9 stars to unlock the seventh level, a total of 12 stars to unlock the eighth, 15 for the ninth and so on. Since you can get more stars per level (6 stars) then you need to unlock another (3 stars), you actually can bypass one or more levels that you don't want to play. I hope that's understandable?

Great game but

I really enjoy this game and would love more levels! But some of the color schemes are so hard to read, I would love the option to either choose a specific color scheme, or turn on a colorblind mode to have better contrast. I am not colorblind but I really struggled to see the letters in some of the levels, especially the darkest colors in Greek mythology and presidents

Overall an amazing game that is fun and definitely has replay ability. It’s easy to get the hang of, and it’s not very high stakes to just play against your personal best. It’s a game that doesn’t require luck, just a little knowledge and practice.

I am generally hesitant to play games that I have to buy first, but this one was absolutely worth it! I’m only interested in casual and fun games because I’m always busy and don’t want to devote hours to my screen. This game is perfect for that because you can just play one level for a few minutes at a time. Absolutely amazing game!!

something didn't work so my response was never posted. But since update (1.1) the darkest colors (in Greek Mythology, Presidents of the US and Car Brands) were replaced by lighter ones. Also, a high contrast mode is now available!

And thanks for this review, really happy to hear that you like it! More levels are also coming, there will be at least one new level every month (:

Easy to pick up, fun to replay

It’s not obvious in the photos and videos, but each level is randomly generated from a large word list, making it fun to play levels over and over again.

Controls are simple and intuitive, and there’s no unnecessary limitations (e.g., you can re-arrange letter tiles manually).

I highly recommend grabbing this game!
