For unlimited puzzles, check out our paid Sudoku app.

Our multi-stage hint system starts with a gentle reminder to get you back on track, and works up to demonstrate the exact technique to use. Our hints ease those frustrating moments, and teach you how to be a better player.

Features include:

- 16 difficulty levels, something for everyone
- Tutorial teaches you new techniques
- Advanced techniques at the higher levels, including X-Wings, sashimi fish, and coloring
- Choice of six color schemes
- Undo/redo
- Automatic or manual pencil marks
- Save your game while you try alternatives
- Highlighting helps you discover patterns
- Game clock; compares your time to other players
- Choice of digit styles, including Kanji and Hanzi

All games are true Sudoku, with symmetry and a single solution that can be discovered by logic alone. If you doubt that a puzzle can be solved by logic, simply have the hint system explain it to you step by step.

Best Soduku

I have been playing this game for over a year on lap top and phone. The free version offers one game per day-can be repeated- for each of the 13 difficulties. It also has 3 lessons if you are just starting with soduku.
The top 5 difficulties (annoying - nightmare) are admittedly over my head and require knowledge of “fishes” “wings” “chains" “locked sets” etc. I can still play those puzzles because i can ask the game for hints (the game even has a learning feature explaining about the above terms). After trying them several times, I still have not developed the abiity to solve these more difficult puzzles on my own.
In general, it offers about 8 games daily of various difficulty for players like me not versed in the “mind bursting” strategies, has easy feature to fill in pencil marks for multiple numbers, offers computer filling all pencil marks, erase button for any cell and check entires feature.
With this game, you can have it in easy mode or do all out and have your soduku nightmare.
To top it all, at the end of each game it shows you the time to complete and even compares to other players without having to do any additional steps. Great for keeping track and pushing for improvement.
Very well done game.

Great App

I’ve been using Sudoku Joy on my iPad for several years and recently discovered this app. I use “Joy” to photograph the puzzles from my newspaper and for the very helpful tutorials. These apps have taken me from a beginner to where I am now, probably an intermediate, using the excellent tutorials. It is an exceptionally good app. I’m using the Sudoku Daily on my iMac and enjoy it very much. Essentially it’s the same app as Sudoku Joy. Thanks, Jason, for untold hours of fun although I always end up in the slowest 20%. At 80 years old the neurons don’t fire as fast as they once did but I think this app helps to slow down the degradation and it’s very satisfying when I discover an X-wing, etc.

Best Learning Tool

This is the best app of Sudoku I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried a number of them. It’s difficulty levels go way higher than I’ll ever get to, but it is also a great learning tool. It shows you various tips and tricks for solving the more difficult puzzles. I’ve managed to bring my skill level up significantly simply by playing and using the hints (which expand on WHY a particular solution works. Aside from being a great learning experience, it’s also VERY easy to use both on my Mac and on my wife’s iPad. It’s well worth the small price for the Pro version as it allows me to play many games of the same difficulty per day. I highly recommend it.
