Different way to use the app.

I don’t use the Tabata Pro the way most people do. I was trained by Fred Haan who wrote the book “the slowburn – the fitness revolution“. I was trained to use a metronome but I didn’t find that very helpful but by using the Tabata app working for a count of six or eight and then instead of resting I do the opposite movement either flexion or extension. It’s really great because I don’t have to concentrate on the number of repetitions that I’m doing and so I don’t lose count.

Good but....

I like everything about this app - except that it sometimes skips the rest period after a set. At first, I thought it was me; that I zoned out and missed the rest at the end of the set. But the last time I used it, I watched carefully and sure enough it went from “work” to “work” with no rest between.

Also, I’m home doing workouts posted by my boot camp class and sometimes our coach breaks up a set with 2 exercises - for example, 1 minute set with one exercise for 40 seconds and the other for 20 seconds. There is no way to set the timer to account for this - which requires me to hold my phone or put it somewhere that I can see it which isn’t always practical depending upon the exercise.

Honestly and seriously what an amazing app! U do not have to go to the gym! Close your bedroom door, get a kettle bell and work out on 1 Tabata doing kettlebells swings then wait one minute turn it back to one Tabata and do kettlebell snatches. This equals 10 minutes. In three weeks of doing this I will add 1 Tabata for swings and one for snatches which would equal 20 minutes of high intensity exercise. Then try to walk 1 mile to 3 a day and watch the weight drop!
