We were told at the bus station in San Gimignano where we need to catch an early train the only option to get the bus ticket is to download the app and buy ticket from it. Not only the app is slow in loading . The sign up page never worked if you use a non-Italy phone number.
I don’t blame the non-skilled developer . I blame the municipal office who made the decision to employ this app which is a nightmare for a tourist . And San Gimignano is one of the most popular tourist town.

It used to work fairly well for buying tickets on the app (I have an Italian phone number). Now it almost never even loads/opens. When it does, it still takes forever to activate a ticket. Now I can’t even do that, and my purchases have disappeared.

Entered many variations of my phone number and never receive a text for signup. Developers should add an email confirmation method instead or stop pretending that US numbers are supported.

I’ve received SMS from other Italian numbers fine, so it isn’t my carrier.

Se non arriva l'SMS di conferma, purtroppo potrebbe dipendere dal gestore telefonico, che non accetta SMS se provenienti da mittente italiano e di cui dall'app non abbiamo alcun controllo, se verra' poi consegnato. Trattandosi di app con funzioni di pagamento, non e' possibile fare un'autenticazione forte a due fattori con la sola email per la verifica - Il Team TABNET
