Tailscode is a native Mac app for the coding agents already running on your own machines. Point it at a machine on your Tailscale network, open the project, and drive Claude Code, opencode or Oh My Pi from a real window — while the repository stays exactly where it belongs. Free and open source.
It connects point to point over your own tailnet. No relay servers, no account, no analytics, no middleman reading your code.
WORKS WITH YOUR AGENTS
• opencode — connect straight to opencode serve and drive any provider you have configured.
• Claude Code — via claude-bridge, the open-source companion server that turns Claude Code into structured streaming sessions backed by your subscription.
• Oh My Pi — via omp-bridge, the open-source companion server that gives Oh My Pi the same structured streaming sessions.
A LIVE, NATIVE TRANSCRIPT
• Answers are written out at a readable pace rather than pasted in lumps, with collapsible thinking and tool-activity groups.
• Syntax-highlighted code blocks, byte-exact copy, and a diff for every edit the agent makes.
• Inline permission approvals — Allow once, Always, or Deny without leaving the chat.
• Agent questions become answerable cards, and a failed turn says what happened and offers to try again; subagents render in the same conversation instead of hiding in another window.
• One quiet row of facts that steps aside when there is nothing to say.
• Images the agent hands you open in a zoomable gallery you can save, copy or share from.
• Steer mid-turn: queue a follow-up while the agent works, edit it before it lands, or stop the turn server-side.
• Slash commands from the server's catalog, per-message model and effort, forking.
A WINDOW BUILT FOR WORK
• Split the window into panes and put a different machine, project or conversation in each. Tabs inside a pane, drag a chat into one, zoom one to fill the window.
• Keyboard-first: one shortcut registry, a vim-mode composer, a searchable cheat sheet, and ⌘ menus for everything else.
• Claude Code sessions also read the repository they are working in: branch, upstream drift, staged and changed files, and the diff behind each one. Read-only, on purpose.
ASK FROM ANYWHERE
• One global hotkey opens the ask box from any app on your Mac and sends the question to the machine you choose.
• Notifications when a turn needs you or finishes, and a list of what happened while you were away.
WHERE THE MONEY WENT
• Session spend opens up turn by turn: what each turn cost, which model spent it, and where the tokens went.
• Account-wide analytics across every connected machine — days, models, projects, tools, and what caching saved you.
• Live quota gauges: Claude plan limits, Grok quotas, opencode cost estimates. Always marked an estimate, never a bill.
NATIVE TO THE CORE
• Programmatic AppKit and Swift 6. Liquid Glass, one window, real menus, full keyboard control and VoiceOver labels.
• Seven color themes plus the system's own, and a type size for each part of the window — the chat list, your prompts, the agent's answers and code.
• Open source under GPL-3.0 — the app, the engine, and the bridge.
FREE, AND CLEAR ABOUT THE ONE THING THAT ISN'T
Every screen is in the free app and your first machine is free forever. Connecting a second — one session list across your whole tailnet — is the one-time Tailscode Pro unlock, and it covers iPhone and Mac on the same Apple Account. No subscription, no account, no ads, no tracking.
TRY IT BEFORE YOU WIRE ANYTHING
A built-in demo lets you explore every screen with sample conversations — no server needed.
REQUIREMENTS

New:
• FLUX 3 Klein paints and edits. The Fast engine now runs FLUX 3 Image Klein: finer detail, lettering that spells what you asked for, and edits that can work from several pictures at once, named image1, image2 in your words. Your ComfyUI machine needs version 0.41 and the new model files; the machine sheet lists anything it is missing.
• A pane can show the app your agent is changing. A Mac running previewd builds it, runs it on a simulator and streams the screen into the pane; each change lands as you watch, and when a build fails the pane keeps the last good picture with the compiler's first error and a button that hands it to the agent.
• A video render outlives the app. It is written down before it starts, so quitting or reinstalling no longer loses it: the next launch finds it on the machine and follows it to the end.
Changes:
• The video button is a light. A ring round its edge shows the machine waking, the queue, how far the render has got, saving, and a clip that landed or a render that broke until you have looked at it.
• Stop names its own render, so it never interrupts somebody else's job on a shared machine.
• Continue it shows which clip it is continuing, and a clip is saved under its words and seed.
