Description

TaskControl for Asana allows you to use your favorite project management tool lightning fast as native macOS App.

Handle your Tasks with ease – with TaskControl for Asana!

TaskControl for Asana allows you to use your favorite project management tool as native macOS App. TaskControl for Asana stays in your Dock Menu – and is ready when you need it. Also after activating the Asana API connection from the preferences it provides you a badge counter on your Dock Icon. You decide what to show: All your tasks, tasks within the actual week, within the next three days or just tasks of today.

TaskControl for Asana also provides a small Status Bar Menu where you can access all your assigned tasks from all your workspaces at one time. A very nice overview – Asana itself do not provide an overview like this (over multiple workspaces). The tasks get indicated with orange (new assigned), grey (due date within this week), blue (due date today) and red (due date yesterday or earlier). Also you can set a task as completed, a new due date, assign other team members or even write and read comments on that task! It's a really huge benefit for working with Asana.

You can also set a default Workspace by right clicking the Workspace in the Status Bar Menu. The main view itself has Tabs for each Workspace – if you have more than one. So you can switch between workspaces without reloading the view every time. TouchBar support included for switching workspaces!

If your team member comment, complete, assign or add you as follower on a task you will get notified with push notifications. You can click these notification to directly access the task you need.

· App that stays in Dock where you need it
· Push Notifications on most events
· Status Bar Menu for a Task overview within multiple Workspaces
· Tabbed Workspaces – switch super fast between workspaces
· Set default Workspace (to open on launch)
· TouchBar support

Lightning fast access to all your tasks!

Terra Dawn ,

I am SOOOO irritated with this app...

I’ve finally decided to delete this app, NOT because it doesn’t work. It actually worked great for a time!! Now, however, it won’t recognize my password…even though I’ve double checked it a gagillion times and can sign in via the browers.

Still…NOT why I’m deleting the app.

In addition to not being able to sign in, they’ve decided to install an “I’m not a robot” system that makes you take actions like “click all the squares with signs”, followed by cars and by roads. After TWO MINUTES of clicking these STUPID pictures…I STILL can’t sign in and have to start over when I want to try a new picture. I played the game for six minutes before I signed in here to write my first review.

I get security…but c’mon. Are my daily tasks worth a Fort Knox task force?

Seeing workspaces/tasks in Menu Bar is great, but...

I love, love, love being able to see all of my workspaces and all of my tasks in one glance — via the macOS Menu Bar. However, some of the promises made by this app aren't there and some of the functionality doesn't seem to be working as intended.

Regarding the promises, the big feature that's advertised is "native notifications" but I've yet to see any come through. Like another reviewer mentioned, I think I'm hearing them but I'm not seeing them. Then again, those sounds could be coming from another app. (I've double-checked notification settings in the macOS System Preferences.)

Regarding the functionality, you're able to set which tasks you want to display (e.g., "show tasks within this week") and which tasks you want to hide (e.g., "hide tasks more than one week in the future") from within the app Preferences — but applying these settings doesn't seem to make a difference in what you see in the Menu Bar display.

To the developer: am I wrong? Am I missing something? I'm more than willing to update this review/rating but I couldn't figure out how to reach out to you directly for app support given that the website to which I was directed for "App Support" was in a foreign language. Also, let me know if I can clarify anything I've written and/or if I can help with providing any specific feedback. I'd love to see this app grow! Best of luck with the development!

Update: I would be happy about a review with the latest version! Thanks!

It works well! This is a real desktop version of Asana.

I took a chance on this app because I really wanted to find a desktop version of Asana. I've been using it for a week and I dont see any issues with it. For reference, I'm using it with Mojave.

I typically don't take the time to leave reviews, but I wanted to share this with anyone else looking for an Asana app.

I also want to encourage the developers to continue to update it!!
