Make a tangible impact together:
• At rem, engagement translates to direct impact in fighting climate change or hunger. Every time you like, comment, or post, we donate to highly effective charities like Cool Earth and Sanku.
• Each form of engagement has units of impact, where posts have 5 units of impact, and likes and comments have 1 unit of impact each.
• One unit of impact equals one pound of carbon removed or one meal fortified.
• Make in-app donations to charities that are recommended based on your interests and track the impact you have made.

Making a difference
I’ve been using this app quite actively for a period of weeks now and I have to say that the overall experience of the app along with its impact-driven focus fulfilled something that I have not experienced on other social media platforms. As someone who is at most a passive consumer of social media, I found REM’s content very engaging. Seeing different posts from many people and seeing the issues others care about was eye-opening to me. I started using it along with a group of friends and sharing issues we each cared about through REM really added to the experience. I also liked how there are many charities listed and described in detail on the app so if I want to donate I know my donation is going to a good cause and is only being used for that purpose. Overall, would definitely recommend to anyone looking to make social impact without knowing how to start.
Incredible platform!!
As a member of the rem team I was one of the first ones to start posting on rem. I am not usually a big social media user but with rem it is different because you are talking about important things that you care about, to people who also care. Also, the more you interact the more impact you have because for every like/comment/post rem donates enough to either fortify meals or remove carbon from the atmosphere. Even when you aren’t donating, using rem is helping people. rem also does a lot of research and vetting into the charities that it recommends, so you know that your donations are going to the right places and doing the most good! Overall, rem is an incredible platform for anyone interested in making or learning about social impact.
Rem is a must-have!!!
I have been using this app for a few weeks and it has made my life so much easier. I used to try to sort through the massive clutter of charities online to find great causes to donate to, but Rem has completely removed that painstaking process for me by recommending hand-picked, cost-effective, and impactful organizations to give to, all sorted by mission.
They also recently launched a community feature that is bustling with daily discussions and material on topics that users find meaningful to them. I've been participating and meeting new people virtually every day!
