The Scales Pro In-App purchase is also available to enable a drone and metronome, and to allow you to view information on certain scales like key signature and relative scale to further enhance your practicing.

What’s New
Version 3.1
As requested by feedback, the Scales App now no longer has in-app purchases. Instead, the app is now $1.00 (don't worry, if you already have the app you don't have to pay). As a result, all content previously locked behind in-app purchase is now available, even if you didn't buy an in-app purchase previously.

I get it, but..
This app performs as described, so I give it four stars. As an entry level violinist, it's not really practical for me because I know very few scales. This app could be improved and indulge a larger audience by adding the option to play audio of the scales in order to help people who don't have the luxury of an instructor to harmonize with. This would be of great help to string players without frets, like me.

Hi Ryan, thanks for writing this review! I appreciate the feedback. I just found out that I can reply to these, so I thought I'd take a moment to respond. The latest version of the app does actually have some basic audio support! With a small in-app purchase, you can enable a drone to play tonic of the scale displayed (with the option to add a fifth). It may not be what you're requesting, but it's a start! I definitely have plans to implement a play-a-long feature like that though, check back!

One of the best practice tools to hit the market!
This app is an incredibly diverse and effective tool for practicing scales. The new features have taken it to a whole new level. I recommend this app to every single one of my students, from beginners to college level music majors. It is also particularly useful as a tool during lessons to help test students on their scales. With the addition of the built-in drone and metronome, this app has now become a staple in my own warm up routine, shaving time off time in my scale practice and making drone work much easier! Be sure your phone is not set to silent/vibrate when using drone/metronome.
