ThrowsApp

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Officiate throwing events and horizontal jumps with laser measurement.
ThrowsApp is designed for Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Hammer, Weight Throw, Long Jump, and Triple Jump.
Choose the measurement setup that works for your equipment.
With Point-to-Point (P2P) measurement, the laser can remain outside the throwing cage. The laser measures from the center of the throwing circle to the landing point, and ThrowsApp automatically applies the correct event reference distance and displays the result.
With Direct Measurement, a laser mounted on a standard photographic tripod can be positioned inside the throwing circle, or at the foul line for horizontal jumps. ThrowsApp uses the laser readings together with your stored equipment dimensions and event geometry to calculate the correct event distance. Both Low Target and Level Target setups are supported.
Results can be displayed in meters, feet/inches, or both. ThrowsApp applies the proper event-specific precision and truncation, including centimeters, quarter inches, or whole inches as appropriate.
Quick Measure is free.
Use it when you simply want to take laser measurements and see the corrected results without setting up a complete event.
ThrowsApp Pro adds complete event management:
• Build events and flights
• Scan entry sheets
• Record attempts, fouls, and passes
• Run preliminary rounds and finals
• Save completed events
• Export results to CSV and PDF
• Resume an interrupted event without starting over
Event data is saved continuously while you work. If the app is interrupted or the device loses power during an event, ThrowsApp can return you to where you left off.
ThrowsApp has been tested with Leica DISTO X4, X6, and S910 systems. Direct Low Target workflows support the Leica DISTO X4 and X6.
