LTC sync & drift measurement
Only for Mac

Mac
Is your timecode actually in sync? Measure offset and drift between your LTC sources, sample-accurately and in real time, on your Mac.
Connect your timecode sources to any Core Audio interface with two or more inputs. Every channel shows its running timecode. Every compare channel shows how far it sits from your master reference, in frames, subframes and milliseconds.
WHAT IT IS FOR
• Check devices before you shoot. All clocks drift, but not at the same rate. Find out which one drifts too much.
• Bring two setups together. Put another crew's master next to yours and see whether the two agree, before the material meets in post.
• Measure latency through your chain. Tap several points at once and see not just how much delay each converter, embedder or recorder adds, but where it happens.
MEASURE
• Sample-accurate offsets (about 0.02 ms at 48 kHz), shown as Full Delta, residual, frames and subframes
• Live drift with trend and 24-hour projection
• Cross-rate comparison: 25 against 29.97 keeps measuring, marked with an FPS-mismatch chip
• All SMPTE rates: 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 (DF and NDF), 30.
• HFR mode reads 47.96, 48, 50, 59.94 and 60 fps with true in-between frames, not doubled numbers
• Sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz following your interface
READ
• Instrument-grade 7-segment display, smooth up to 120 Hz on ProMotion displays
• Status chips for Master, Lock, HFR, Pause, User Bits and cross-rate
• Plasma-style level meters per channel, with optional dB scale
• Color-coded sync status with your own offset thresholds
• Nameble channels
DOCUMENT
• Drift report as PDF: verdict per channel, drift charts, event log
• CSV session logs in the background: timecode, offset and drift for every channel, plus a run summary with every reset and its reason. Sync proof for the production report.
ROBUST
• Clean behavior on signal loss, automatic recovery, re-jams logged
• Pause freezes the display while the measurement keeps running
• Several windows for several interfaces, or a standard and a high frame rate side by side
SOLO AND PRO
Timecode Compare is a one-time purchase with two channels: master reference plus one compare channel, with every measurement feature included. If you need more, the Pro upgrade is a single in-app purchase that raises the limit to eight channels in one window (master plus seven). It is the only in-app purchase, and the only thing it changes is the channel count.
PRIVACY
Audio is analyzed in memory purely to decode timecode. Nothing is recorded, stored or transmitted, and the app has no network access at all. Data Not Collected.
REQUIREMENTS
macOS 14 Sonoma or later and a Core Audio audio interface with at least two inputs. The built-in microphone is not a timecode source.
