hi, i'm Cal.
i built timespent to be the simplest, most flexible way to track your goals, habits, skills, and activities.
for those who used my old activity timer app, you'll find everything you loved and a whole lot more. timespent takes tracking to a new level, letting you measure activities by weight, distance, or volume—or just keep a simple tally too.
here are just a few ways you can use timespent:
– focus & activity timer
log focused work sessions with the built-in focus timer, perfect for pomodoro-style sprints or deep work. track your hours spent studying, meditating, or mastering a skill on your way to 10,000 hours.
– habit & routine tracker
build powerful routines and track your progress. minimize screentime, create a reading log, maintain a gratitude journal, or track any habit you want to build or break. see your consistency grow day by day.
– workout & fitness log
create a complete workout history. log strength training with sets, reps, and weight. track your cardio sessions by distance and time, whether you're running, cycling, or swimming. count your yoga poses or push-ups. every bit of progress, logged.
– daily checklist & task tracker
stay on top of your recurring tasks. did you water the plants? take your medications or supplements? complete your daily chores? use quick tallies to check things off and free up your mind.
– skill & practice journal
use the focus timer to record practice sessions that level-up your skills. they say it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert—now you can track your journey there. watch your dedication pay off, whether you're practicing an instrument, coding a new project, or learning a new language.
plus, timespent is more than just a list of numbers. it helps you visualize your journey with powerful, but simple, tools:
– home screen widgets: keep your progress front and center so you never lose sight of your goals.
– heatmap calendars: get a beautiful at-a-glance view of your consistency.
– personal goals: set daily or weekly targets to stay motivated and celebrate every milestone you reach.
– clean charts & stats: understand your trends without overwhelming or cluttered graphs.
– reminders: send yourself notifications and words of encouragement.
– arcs: track and organize your routines with a gentler approach to streaks & goals.
– apple watch & fitness integration: import workouts automatically.
start tracking what matters most. a better you is just one tap away.

Wow! Cal, you are a very eclectic developer and productive people searching through the endless pile of somewhat usable apps could def use more coders like you. What a piece of art this is! I have been looking for a way to track my habits and time on a daily basis—to increase productivity, achieve goals, and give me that tingly sensation of being better than an earlier version of myself—and after weeks (!) of trial and error trying on dozens of apps I came across this one. Boom! I’m sold. This friendly guy is just so fun to be around. What percentage of the junk on your phone can you say that about? One little (huge!) thing (here is my innocent user request plug): any plans to add Shortcuts commands? I like to automate all that I can to reduce friction and tie up extra focus; the ability to automatically check off a habit or time a recurring event would make this app sparkle even more. ♡.

Tyy so much for the kind words!! As for shortcuts ... keep an eye out for 1.8.8 💪🤝
Beautiful upgrade from Session
Mallearn
I was using the developer’s previous app project called Session for about 3 years to try and be more mindful and approximate the mastery level of my skills in language, math, chemistry, programming, musical instruments/sound production, and flow arts and it was one of my favorite things on my phone. Then I find out they released this beautiful customizable interface! I’ll admit that at first it was a lot to setup so I was overwhelmed, but once you get the hang of this app, it’s honestly such a beautiful thing. I love this app. Super thankful this was developed.
great for data nerds

I think I found this app through an Insta ad (I’m easily influenced but highly critical) and idk how there’s only 42 reviews because this app is everything I’ve been looking for!!! That I didn’t know I was even looking for!! Like with every new app there is a learning curve but this one isn’t as steep. Most of the functions are intuitive. It’s a great, easy way to get data points on what you actually do in your life and look at it from a bigger picture. I couldn’t believe how much time I actually spent driving or doom scrolling. No glitches so far (usually they show up quick) and it works so well with iOS26. So many good things to say, so little space. If you’re on the fence, try it out. The free features are great and I personally may make the leap to a subscription.

Simple, Effective, Promising

I really like this app. I love the simple design, and the detailed statistics for activities. The arcs feature is great for habit tracking and for habit stacking. (The stacking feature is not one I’ve seen elsewhere.) Finally, I love how easy it is to give feedback through the app for feature suggestions, etc. I’m pretty new, but it looks like I’ll be enjoying it even more once I have some more data logged to work with. I haven’t had any significant reservations yet, which is a first for me in tracking apps.
