TimeTable Express turns multiplication tables into an adventure for grades 2 through 4. Built on a research-backed "hard first" method, the app helps students practice key multiplication facts through train-themed drag-and-drop gameplay.
TimeTable Express is free to try for 7 days. After the free trial, a paid auto-renewing subscription is required to continue accessing gameplay and learning features, including:

Why "Hard First" Works
After nearly 30 years in schools, the same pattern showed up again and again: kids do not struggle with every multiplication fact. They struggle with the sevens, eights, and nines. Those are the facts kids often cannot skip count quickly in their heads, so they get stuck and start guessing.
TimeTable Express was born from a real tutoring session. A seventh-grader in pre-algebra was falling behind because her multiplication facts were slowing her down. A quick card game changed that. She flipped cards and raced to answer, starting with the nines, then the eights, then the sevens. Once past the sixes, everything got easier.
That experience revealed the core insight: why overwhelm kids with all 100 multiplication facts when only 36 need focused memorization? It is a triangle from 2x2 through 9x9, the Multiplication Pyramid, and mastering it from the top down works.
How the Levels Are Structured
Instead of starting with the 1s and 2s like most multiplication apps, TimeTable Express tackles the biggest obstacles first. The progression begins at 9x9, works through the 8s and 7s, then moves into the 6s, 5s, and lower. By the time students reach the easier facts, they have already practiced the hardest ones.
The app still covers multiplication facts over time. Focused memorization targets the 36 key facts, and the difficulty curve runs backward by design. Students who work through all seven levels practice the hardest multiplication problems first and build confidence as they progress.
More Than a Flashcard App
Traditional math drills are passive: see a fact, recall an answer, repeat. TimeTable Express makes multiplication practice active through drag-and-drop interaction, level-based progression, score tracking, and badge rewards.
Students who resist flashcard drilling may engage more willingly with the same math facts when they are wrapped inside an interactive challenge. The methodology came from real classrooms and real tutoring sessions, not a textbook theory.
