timing.is a mobile calendar app that focuses on a new brand of mindful productivity.

it combines your calendar events and your to-do list in one easy-to-use timeline that makes capturing, planning, and doing the things in your life a lot simpler.

_ plan
timing helps you plan things more seamlessly.

universal entry lets you add tasks, reminders or events from a single spot – just add the details you have at the time and hit save. all entries start as an unscheduled task. add a date, and it’s scheduled for the day. add a time and it sets a reminder. add an end time and it becomes an event. it just makes sense. you can also personalize things with #tags and emojis to add some spice (also works great with filters!).

_ focus
timing helps you focus your attention on what's important.

your day is broken down into timed blocks with your events, reminders, tasks (and any gaps in your schedule) highlighted on an infinite stream. actions like video conference calls or locations are highlighted. you also have a private scratchpad to capture your thoughts and ideas related to each entry so it’s always available for easy access alongside the other details.

timing helps you gain perspective on how you spend time.

quickly filter your timeline through a variety of 'lenses' that help you see how your days are structured through different points of view. you can use these to slice and dice your commitments by the calendar (or list) they belong to, their day of week, time of day, whether they have unique properties like a video conference link or a location, based on how many people are attending the meeting, based on their duration, and so much more. unique insights are just a tap away. this is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

- universal entry: just add a title and save to quickly add things to your timeline (all other fields are optional, just like real life)
- seamless execution: switch between an event, a task, or a reminder to plan your day as you see fit
- express yourself: add emojis and #hashtags to make it feel personal and improve recall
- powerful filters: cut through the noise and get unique perspectives on how you spend time
- compatible with existing synced calendars (Apple, Google, Outlook) and Reminders app
- beautifully designed from start to finish, every detail has been painstakingly polished (and we’re just getting started)
- customize the look and feel by choosing from 8 different accent colors
- widgets, notifications… check, check
- no login or account needed
- private and secure: we do not store any data on our servers (we don’t even own any servers)

What’s New

Version 1.0.16

* Presentation of attendees on a fullscreen event card should be neater.
* No alignment issues on any phone when viewing the dotted calendar whether accessed in entry or from the top pulldown.
* Today’s chart shouldn’t fill the bar of the hour before an event occurring.
* Time on top right should be visible in full on all phone screens.

Also the following from the version that went out shortly before this latest:

_ New

* Added ”Status” lens group added to your filters. Get fresh instant perspectives on what meetings you’re hosting, been invited to, need to RSVP etc.

_ Improved

* Transitions into an overlay view, such as going into Universal Entry or tapping a card on your Timeline, should be generally faster and smoother.
* Reduced jitter when scrolling your Timeline, previously especially felt when scrolling today. In our tests, we are actually not seeing any hitches, but regardless, we don’t consider optimisation work here to be done. Always more that can be done so the experience feels as fluid as possible.
* Based on first impressions/our own feelings, today chart won’t weigh reminders as being 15 minutes. When durations for tasks/reminders come into effect, this will be sorted out properly with the user’s input.

_ Fixed

* If you have event that runs past midnight, today’s chart won’t incorrectly show the total duration of the event when you hover over the event’s starting hour (but will show the duration of time the event will take up within the hour, like any other event).
* Infrequent crash on startup should no longer occur.
* When editing an event, should never crash. It was happening rarely, but important to point out, that changes were always successfully changed and the crash occurred afterwards.
* Icons in bottom middle of the Planner should not change colour to black (i.e. hidden) at any point.
* A multi-day event regardless of time it finishes on in its last day will be given the all-day visual treatment (and not appear like a very lengthy non-all day event).
* Time should always be visible on every view within Universal Entry (previously it would become hidden when the keyboard was up).
* Left hand dash doesn’t get pushed inwards if the end time for your day consists of four digits.

Well thought UX

The UX is innovative so it takes a little getting used to. Conceptually, it ties together tasks and events in a spectrum that makes sense in the real life; The UX is responsive and looks amazing; the universal entry, planning and filtering functionalities are really interesting. I’m looking forward for the upcoming features from the developers

Developer Response ,

Thanks Rodrigo for the positive review. We appreciate that the experience may have a learning curve attached (which we’re constantly iterating to reduce/eliminate) but that if you persist — as you seem to have — that you’ll understand and appreciate what (and how!) we’re doing things.

Timing is Everything!

I've been using the beta for Timing. Is for a few months now and I'm impressed with the user experience. The app is sleek and easy to navigate, making it simple to track and manage my time. As we all know, time is precious and it's crucial to make sure we're using it in the most effective way possible. With Timing. Is, I've been able to get a handle on my daily calendar and as a result, I've been more productive and happy. It's a shame that we don't spend more energy or money on optimizing our time, but with apps like Timing. Is, it's becoming easier to do so. Highly recommend it!

Developer Response ,

Thanks so much for being part of the beta and your continued support!
