What is up with the controller support?

This game clearly accepts input from MFi controllers, as I can change the selection in the menu, and yet does not let you use the controller in the actual game.

Guerrilla Bob much?

They sat that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, yet this blatant ripoff comes nowhere near the original game.
