No comments - Yup, no comments
On Topico, your interactions revolve around recommending articles, promoting newsrooms and increasing your influence rings. There isn’t a place for comments within the Topico experience because they’re considered part of the noise, anxiety and obligation that cause the friction when it comes to sharing news and information..
Sourced News
We are a place to share news, or sourced articles of news and information. This provides accountability and insight into the source of the posted information. Photos, videos and memes are often untraceable and unaccountable.

Version 1.3.0
New features:
* Edit your article tags.
Members can now edit/add/remove any of their article topic tags.
Tap on the article menu, and select ‘edit topics...’
* View everyone that recommended your post
Now you can view all the members who recommended your post.
Simply go to notifications, and then select the text under the username (example: +2 others recommended your post), and you’ll open a panel to view all the members who have recommended your post.
* Allow duplicate posts
When creating a Newsroom you now have the option to allow duplicate posts.
This is helpful when you want to include everyone (such as a classroom).
The default for this option is /OFF.
Improvements:
* Newsroom connections
If an article is posted into your Newsroom from a connected Newsroom, your Newsroom will also import the tags of the article as well.
This is helpful for classrooms, or organizations that want to view the aggregate topics (what’s trending) across multiple Newsrooms.
* Category surfing
When viewing the top categories on Topico you’ll now see the trend surfing icon next to each topic.
Simply tap on the trend surfer to start discovering what’s relevant to that main topic.

The news sharing app I’ve been looking for!!
I love reading articles on news aggregators but I am always frustrated that A.I. is pushing me articles according to the algorithm. This doesn’t allow for the element of discovery. Not only that, I’ve always wanted to be able to keep track of interesting articles and invite my friends or colleagues to see these articles. Topico allows me to do this (and so much more) by creating news feeds on topics that interest me and sharing them with anyone! It’s a lot of fun. There isn’t the noise of Twitter or FB either which is such a relief! Highly recommend!!
Great idea for a news app
Every news app is a variation of the same idea, but I like that this one’s different. I like that I can post an article I like and not have anyone giving their stupid opinions. You either like it or not, that’s it. Also, the features are very interesting. I like that I can follow postings of people that put up articles I find interesting. I really like that I can see a timeline of topics, which is interesting to see how an opinion can evolve. I wish this were around when I was in college. I see myself using this for a long time.
Smart App, No better way to stay up-to-date
Genius idea for an app—great way to keep up with the topics you actually care about and filter out the noise / programming. Highly recommend giving it a try. Definitely an app to watch as they continue to add useful features and functionality.
