This is all he could do? ,

Still not working

The Wifi network never shows up on anything. This is very frustrating.

The fail starts at A-5. The network “Thingsxxx” is not in the list of available networks.

Thank you for your information. You failed at A-5.
So you're going to set up the device for the first time. Then the device says "Hello please use the Toshiba app, and perform initial setup" and the LED becomes solid white.
After that, the device becomes AP mode. The SSID is "THINGS_" + "6 characters".
"THINGS_" is a large character. The part of "6 characters" is individual code by each device.
In my case, "THINGS_CBFD40". Your device has a deference code. I hope you find the SSID.
If you cannot find it, go back to setting once, and then tap "Wi-Fi". iPhone reloads the network.

This is the first time for setting up the device? if so please operate from A-1.

I think something I cannot expect has happened, so please tell me where you fail.
A-1. Turn on the device and wait for a message "Hello please use the Toshiba app, and perform initial setup”. If your device doesn't say this message. please go to step B-1.
A-2. Launch the app, tap "Initial Setup" on the Welcome screen.
A-3. Tap "Connect to Device" then it'll be navigated to "Toshiba Smart Home App" settings.
A-4. Tap "< Settings", then the mobile device shows "Settings”.
A-5. Tap "Wi-Fi". Please find THINGS_xxxxxx in the network list.
A-6. Connect to THINGS_xxxxxx. Please wait for completing to connect the device.
A-7. Tap "Toshiba Smart Home" at the upper left. you can go back to the app.
A-8. You can change the device name (you can skip this step.) and tap "Done”.
A-9. Select the Wi-Fi router and put a password and tap "Done”.
A-10. When LED stops pulsing becomes solid white, please tap goto pairing.
A-11. Next step, you need to log in using your Amazon account to register the device.
A-12. If you want to use Alexa, please log in with Alexa using your Amazon account.
A-13. Select a zone name.
A-14. The device update may be started. please wait for a few minutes. The app will detect after finishing the device SW update and reboot it. Please keep turn on the device.

B-1 Turn on, the device says “Welcome”, “discovering network”, then “connected wifi” or “I’m having trouble connecting to the internet.”. In this case, you have set up the device before. if the device can find Wi-Fi you set up before, it succeeds to connect wifi, but it cannot connect to it, it fails to connect Wi-Fi.
B-2 If you remember Amazon ID you set up before for the device, please go to B-3, If you don’t remember Amazon ID, please go to step C-1
B-3 Press and hold for about 10 seconds Network/Pairing button until Top LEDs show fountain.
B-4 Then go to step A-2. if Amazon ID you remember is deference from the device has set up, you fail at A-11. If you fail it, please go to step C-1.

C-1 Please press and hold the Reset button over 15 seconds. The device will reset to the factory default setting. If you have set up something before, they will be deleted.
C-2 Turn on the device. The initializing process maybe takes longer. please wait a few minutes. please go to step A-1.

This app works for TH-GW10 and VC-FLX1, not Toshiba "Fire TV".

Literally, the worst device!

You can’t even get past the first screen of device setup because it won’t allow you to do what instructions tell you to do! Hell with this! Sending it back for sure!

We release v1.23. Please update the app.
I think you cannot proceed initial setup of the device (TH-GW10 or VC-FLX1).
I introduce a process the first time you set up the device using the iOS app.
1. Turn on the device and wait for a message "Hello please use the Toshiba app, and perform initial setup".
2. Launch the app, tap "Initial Setup" on the Welcome screen.
3. Tap "Connect to Device" then it'll be navigated to "Toshiba Smart Home App" settings.
4. Tap "< Settings", then the mobile device shows "Settings".

6. Connect to THINGS_xxxxxx. Please wait for completing to connect the device.
