Love the TP-7, and the app has potential… I was excited for the multi language update, but unfortunately it cannot handle some non English languages at a proficient level. We tried out Japanese and Korean [native speakers] and the app was only able to understand simple words and vocabulary. It would be great if it was more robust so that its actually usable for transcription / translation purposes. Looking forward to the next update from TE!

I work at a native cultural center and use tp7 to digitize tapes and audio at work. For this we also type up transcriptions. Granted the tapes are long. With some interviews lasting 45+ minutes. But I figured this device was primarily for recording tracks and interviews so it could handle it. Unfortunately the app would get hung up and began typing a repeated line over and over again.On top of that the app only works in portrait mode. But if I'm out in the field, I'll generally have my ipad setup on landscape in a bt keyboard case. Which makes working the app awkward. I love TE and I hate to say it, but this app isn't up to their par or standards that it should be. Hopefully this app gets a much needed update soon.

I love how easy it is to transcribe my recorded audio from TP-7, and I’m loving the support for multiple languages — making life as a dual-language teacher easier. I’d like sort options for date, memo/recorded audio, language transcribed, etc. I’d like to be able to retitle transferred tracks, and for transcribed text to be made searchable to help me find the sections of tape I’m looking for. Last, but perhaps most importantly, I’d like to see a landscape mode for iPad. TP-7 is such a powerful tool, and I’d like is companion app to be equally as powerful!

I really hope this app gets fixed soon and development is prioritized. I got the TP-7 as an offline memo tool to transcribe meetings and interviews, and I can see the vision of this app. But so far it just doesn’t work. The recordings are transferred and the app is doing some offline transcription (which I greatly appreciate from a privacy standpoint), but it’s just super buggy and basically unusable at this point. I understand this is a new product and I’m excited to be an early adopter, but in its current state it does not live up to my expectations.
