Trace reads your notes and automatically finds the people, places, and ideas you mention. It connects related notes into a visual knowledge graph — so you can see patterns and relationships you didn't know were there.

HOW IT WORKS
Write a quick note about anything — a meeting, an idea, something you read. Trace extracts entities automatically using on-device intelligence: names become People, locations become Places, topics become Concepts.
Notes that share entities connect automatically. "Coffee with Sarah" links to "Sarah's MacBook" links to "Meeting at Blue Bottle" — without you lifting a finger.
Open the graph canvas and see your entire web of knowledge laid out as an interactive, physics-driven visualization. Drag nodes, zoom in, tap a node to highlight it and its neighbors in amber.

Considered design — black ink on cream paper across every screen. Visual hierarchy in the graph comes from node size and opacity, not color noise. Tap a node and the only color in the app — amber — picks out its neighborhood.

Trace 1.0.1 brings iCloud sync, so your notes and the graph that connects them now stay in step across iPhone and iPad, privately and automatically through your own iCloud account. This release also adds iPad support with bigger graph nodes, a new large home-screen widget, and a layout designed for the iPad's screen. A short first-launch tour introduces the graph and how connections form for new readers, and entity marking is smarter throughout — names, places, and organizations get underlined as you type with no extra tap, Organization is now its own entity type distinct from people, places, and concepts, and the entity-marking control was rebuilt to feel more immediate. Privacy is unchanged: everything stays on your device and syncs only through your private iCloud database, with no accounts, no servers, and no analytics.
