Transcript Workbench Pro is a Mac app for video editors, producers, communications teams, oral historians, educators, and anyone who needs to turn recorded media into useful text, reports, and editable timelines. This version requires macOS Tahoe 26 or later.
Import audio or video files and create transcripts locally on your Mac using Whisper transcription models. Your source media does not need to be uploaded to a transcription website just to create a transcript. Export subtitle-friendly formats, plain text, and a more human-readable timed PDF designed for review, sharing, and editorial reference.
Transcript Workbench Pro also helps with assistant-editor tasks that often sit between transcription and editing. If a client, producer, or social media manager sends an email with requested clips and timecodes, paste that request into the app and generate editable Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro XML timelines with named clips and sequences.
For longer recordings, the Pro workflow can use your transcript and context notes to suggest social-media clip selections, titles, descriptions, hashtags, and a communications report explaining the recommendations.

Local transcription does not require an OpenAI API key. AI-assisted clip selection, social copy, and report generation require you to provide your own OpenAI API key.
