I absolutely love this app. I work at a dialysis facility and I am not totally fluent in Spanish but I can definitely get by with a decent conversation but every now and then I’ll need to say something in Spanish that I don’t know. I just whip out my phone and look it up and have the phone tell me how to say what I need. I can tell if it’s the correct context or if I need to enter another English phrase to get the correct Spanish word, so this is very helpful to me. When we had to start the COVID screening, we didn’t have a Spanish screening questionnaire so I definitely used this app to assist in creating one. Of course, I had my Spanish-speaking patients correct me if I used the wrong word, but without this app, the process would have been more difficult. This is especially useful when I’m out and about or watching a movie. I can turn on my app and let it translate a word or phrase for me. I love to play with this app and all the different languages available so I get the proper pronunciations for languages I am NOT familiar with. Great app!

Three years ago i used this application in Japan, and talked for hours out front of my hotel with a local person who didn’t speak English. They would speak into the app after pushing the Japanese side and it would spit out in English audibly what they said. And we did this back-and-forth for hours giggling. And today I opened it up and it had my last words which was good evening. I couldn’t quite remember how to use the app, and I clicked on the Japanese characters, and clicked the word speak above it, I have an iPhone, and it immediately said con ban wa perfectly. And then I tapped on German, and it did the same for German. I’m looking forward to going to Germany soon and using this app. Thank you so much for making this app, you developers! I remember when I had to learn the Japanese language the hard way in school. And now kids have these smart phones to do this kind of thing. It’s an amazing world we live in.

So I’ll start by saying that this is the ONLY translation tool I’ve had to use for years now.I travel a lot and it’s always been an immensely valuable app for me to have.Even if I just want to learn how to say a few things in another language. It’s perfect for all uses you can think of.Blows Google Translate out of the water too as far as meaningful translations a supposed to Google’s almost literal translations which rarely make sense in real speaking senses.But since the end of April, it just crashes every time I open it. And I’m only including this in my review in hopes the developers see it. I emailed them as well but would just hate to never see it fixed and have to download another app which I just can’t trust will work as well as this one has for me.A 100% five-star app, through-and-through, and I just realllllllly hope it’s fixed soon so I can start translating again ASAP. :)

If I type in or dictate something and then I discover that language A —-> language B setting is actually inverted and I then make it language B —-> language B then it wipes out what I have already typed in and I need to type anewPlease fix it to not wipe out what’s already typed in even if I change direction settings between any two given languages Second suggestion Provide a way to purposely wipe out what’s already typed in - to start anewFor example it could be a little x in a little circle on the right of the writing areaRight now one must press backspace continuuously and that takes time when one wishes to input a new word or phraseThird suggestionInvert the order of the work pad where the inputs and outputs appear Have the newest output translation appear on the bottom of the scroll rather than on the topSuch that the input and output could be seen in a single screen rather than having to scroll up to see the translation which is annoying and slow when some precious translations are still thereAll these friendly suggestions are in the spirit of the fastest and most efficient usage of the app in real time Developers: please take them seriously if you wish for a better product This is based on my recent trip to Italy in which I used the app repeatedly
