Off to a good start but needs work!

I have been playing Bridge with friends on this app during the Coronavirus shut down and have been really enjoying it. We use the video feature and can see and takk with each other—it is the next best thing to actually playing a game sitting at the same table. However, there are some issues: The biggest one is the Bridge scoring is all wrong. It doesn’t seem that this would be difficult to fix and I did contact customer service with the advice that they simply put American Contract Bridge League scoring in place. The second criticism is their card-dealing program could be more sophisticated and closer to random. Currently it is not. The third is there needs to be a way to chat with unknown players, or they need a vehicle for players to post what Bridge conventions they use. Conventions are important in Bridge and it is essential to know which ones are in use when playing with strangers. Also, the bots are useless. I exit games when the bots appear because they are a big waste of time. Bridge is the world’s most complex game and with a little work, Trickster could satisfy the above issues. Despite these problems, we have been enjoying this. When my friends get together, we keep our own score or ignore the score—theirs is hopelessly incorrect. The graphics are great and with a little work, this could be a top site for online Bridge players.

Favorite spades and euchre app - buuuuuttt

The skill level of other members is quite high which allows me to lose a bunch sure - but also teaches me so much!! I’ve become much better at spades especially. In general the app is great too. Will say at times, if you decide to purchase chips, it seems like the app stacks the odds against you as you get lower - probably in hopes to sell more chips. It’s a business so I guess I don’t blame them too much but as long as it doesn’t bleed me completely dry and I get the chance to win back. Lol

“Buuuuuttttt” Update: kind of annoying how people will block or report you as cheating, simply because they didn’t win or assume I possibly can’t be a good player. It causes my deals to be bad for the next few hands in the current game and the next game or two. I’ve been keeping pulse on how an opponent will act and check my log to see if they reported or blocked me. And like clockwork nothing but bad hands if they do. How is this fair? Actually works as a strategy in a current game. Block or report someone then remove it. Repeat. I’ve tested that too - blocked someone and bam, they had bad cards Lol. Not sure if it’s just an unfortunate byproduct of regulating or if it can somehow be changed to a better set up but it’s very annoying.

Developer Response ,

Glad you like the app!

For what it's worth, we only use random deals - that's the experience we want to play too. Unfortunately they don't always produce fair results, but rest assured that even if your luck gets unbalanced for a bit, it won't be because of your chips status.

Response to update: to be clear, we do not alter your deals because someone blocked or reported you. We even provide stats to see how your hands look over time. You can find them in the main menu by going to Statistics, Deal Statistics, then choosing "Start Logging My Deals".

Great graphics, video and lots of fun

All in all this program has been quite a blessing while we have been staying at home to avoid the Corona virus. Our pinochle club has been able to keep our weekly games going, even though the game play is a little different than our preferred way. Only one thing kept me from rating this nice application 5-star: the card deal is not random! To people that have played thousands of games of pinochle it is obvious that far too many great hands are dealt, resulting in way more big scoring hands than one would usually expect. I suppose the motivation for this is that for many users of this application it is more exciting to get lots of big hands, keeps them coming back. But our pinochle team would love it if there was an option to cause a true random shuffle. Would be just like the old days playing with cards, only better. Please consider adding an option !
