Description

TUNITY allows you to hear any live muted TV. You simply scan the TV with the camera in the app, and let Tunity do its magic: identify the channel and the exact timing of what you’re watching, and streams the synchronized audio to your headphones or bluetooth speaker. With the new Quick Tune feature, channels you (or anyone else in that venue) listened to are automatically saved in Quick Tune, so you can listen to it simply by choosing the channel from the Quick Tune list, without the need to rescan!

Where Should I Use Tunity? To put it simply—ANYWHERE! At bars, restaurants, gyms, airports, hotels and anywhere else where there are muted TVs.

If you are a venue owner, Tunity is the perfect audio solution for your venue, with no hardware installation required. Go to www.Tunity.com to learn how you can become a Tuntiy partner venue.

Please note Tunity only supports live TV and doesn’t support online content like YouTube, streaming services, etc.

For live TV, however, it works like magic. Don't just take our word for it:

Ryan Hoover - Founder, Product Hunt: "Really clever. This would be a great companion at the gym to listen to muted TV's in front of rows of elliptical machines"

CNET: "Tunity streams TV audio to your smartphone…and it's darn cool…the app has the potential to be a huge hit"

Touch Arcade: "Tunity feels like magic- Particularly when paired with AirPods, and you seriously just have to try it."

Lorita81 ,

Finally! Thank you (see CC update 1/22)

Super happy to have this app. For years I have been wanting this exact ability. Works well and I am sure they will continue to improve.

Update Jan 2020: still love app and appreciate this unique ability (I would pay for this if....)
But.....whenever it is a major sporting event the audio does not keep up. I use this daily and can tell the difference between a big game and a normal game (ratings wise of any kind). So, maybe the networks are making it hard for you or the traffic is delaying the app but this needs to be fixed. Like I said: charge us a flat fee or small mo fee and step it up. Thank you again. Being first is tough I imagine.

Developer Response ,

Hi Lorita81, thanks for reaching out. I can assure you that the type of programming does not matter. If the audio is not in sync with the video, please use the arrows at the bottom of the screen to fast forward or rewind the audio to get it perfectly in sync with the video. Thanks.

Why didn’t I think of this

For years I’ve been had the problem of not being able to hear the TVs at bars. I’ve asked the bartenders to turn the volume on a TV and they always said no. Other than sporting events, what’s the point in having the TVs on then? I’d still like to hear the announcers for sporting events but at least I can see what’s happening. That’s not the case for anything else. Even the news I can only see the “Breaking News” bar but have no idea what the anchors are saying. Some bars have TV shows and even movies on - why? What’s the point? And don’t even get me started on closed captioning. It’s so delayed and there’s no point in trying to follow it.

Because of Tunity, now people can actually know what’s going on on the TV. I don’t usually write reviews but I felt as if I had to because of how often I use Tunity. Great customer service too. I reached out one time to ask a question and they were very prompt with their response. It’s one of those thing where it makes you think, “Why didn’t I think of that?” I wish I had , but it doesn’t matter - as long as I have it now.

Greed

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this over the years, but now they’ve gotten greedy. This use to be free with no ads. Now your going to want me to make a monthly payment of $2.99? Seriously! If there was a purchase where you had to pay like $4.99 for the app or even $9.99 I’d be cool with that, but requiring nearly $36 a month sorry I meant a year big mistake on my part. Go jump off a cliff worthless greedy folks. Let’s see how long these “short clips” will last. I GUARANTEE y’all it’ll slowly become longer and longer clips. 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and even longer just so they can try and force people to the monthly subscription. It’s coming just watch! I’m sorry but $36 a month, sorry a year I mean which is just ridiculous. Sorry I meant $36 a year. Big typo on my behalf. Hopefully the correction is better now developers. I’m sure people knew what I meant, but apparently y’all couldn’t figure it out. Since this is being done due to the “pandemic” then this means when things get back to normal y’all will remove the ads and not require money to be pod right? Yeahhhhh right like that will happen. Again I’m cool with like a one time app purchase of $4.99 or even $9.99, but a monthly payment.... yeah no.
