Scam calls, texts and websites, caught before they reach you. TurtleShield works quietly in the background on your iPhone, and one plan can cover your whole household. TurtleShield protects you from phone scams on iPhone: scam calls, scam texts and fake websites. It works in the background once it's set up, and the app walks you through each step. CALL BLOCKING AND CALLER ID WARNINGS Calls from known scam numbers go silently to voicemail. Numbers that a few people have reported still ring, with "Reported caller" under the number, so you can decide whether to answer. SCAM TEXT FILTERING Scam texts from people who aren't in your contacts are moved to your Junk folder, so they never reach your inbox. Texts from your contacts are never checked. SAFE BROWSING IN SAFARI TurtleShield warns you before a known scam or phishing site opens in Safari. Unfamiliar sites are checked with Google Web Risk. CHECK A NUMBER Got a missed call from a number you don't know? Look it up to see whether it has been reported to the FTC, the FCC or by TurtleShield members, and report it yourself to warn others. DATA BREACH ALERTS Find out if your email address appears in a known data breach, with clear steps to secure your accounts. PROTECT YOUR HOUSEHOLD Couple and Family plans cover up to six people. Invite them by email and see at a glance whether their protection is on. HOW TURTLESHIELD DECIDES We use reports from people, not guesses. Our sources are complaints people file with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communications Commission, reports from TurtleShield members, and a check of the phone line itself. • Blocked: a number many people have reported recently, or one our check identifies as a premium-rate or high-risk internet number. Blocked calls go silently to voicemail. A number you block yourself is always blocked. • Warned: a number a few people have reported recently. Your phone still rings, with "Reported caller" under the number, so you can decide. • Official numbers are never blocked. Scammers fake the numbers of government agencies, banks and credit unions. When that happens we show "Often faked", so you know to hang up and call back on a number you trust. • Reports expire, so numbers that stop being reported drop off. Your saved contacts and the numbers you allow always ring. • Texts from blocked numbers go to Junk. Texts from warned numbers go there only if the message itself looks like a scam. TurtleShield is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FTC, the FCC, Apple or any mobile carrier. YOUR PRIVACY TurtleShield never reads your contacts and shows no ads. Sending suspicious texts to us for a second check is off unless you turn it on. When Safari checks a site, only the site name and page path are sent; the rest of the address, such as search terms, never is. SUBSCRIPTIONS TurtleShield requires a subscription: Individual, Couple or Family, billed monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
