TV Cast for Sony Smart TV 17+

Alright but..

This app is very useful for when I want to watch stuff online and put it on the big screen but sometimes it lags terribly. Like every 5 seconds. I try disconnecting everything but my tablet so the tv can get good signal but sometimes it keeps lagging. I hope they can fix this bug soon. Or maybe a way to be able to change the server or something.

Please try the following options that may help:
(1) Please make sure you have a stable internet connection (both your iOS device and the receiver device). Please also try to move your wifi access point (or router) nearer to your receiver device and your sender device to improve the signal.
(2) Please make sure that the energy-saving mode of your phone is not activated (the battery percentage of your iOS device should ideally be above 30%). This can lead to incorrect transmission.
(3) Please try to turn off both your iOS device and your Cast device completely (pull the plug) and let it cool down for about 5 minutes.
(4) Please try to switch between 2,4 GHz and 5GHz wifi network as due to different conditions the different frequencies could work better or worse.
(5) Please check out the tutorial videos and the FAQ inside the app.

Pretty Good Casting

Pluses: Hi def source on iPhone is hi def on the tv. Also using a Sony blu ray player works for casting to a non smart & non Sony tv.
Minuses: Because of Sony’s complete lack of support for useful apps on players like the BDP-S6700 the home screen’s Opera TV app very slowly launches the truly horrible “vewd” app which won’t remain on your home screen for next time. This app is found in vewd. Most player apps are placed in vewd and they’re truly crummy apps. The box the player comes in uses pictures of apps as a con job. Thanks a lot Sony, as usual.
This app often hangs up and won’t cast a program, just a prior commercial repeatedly. Eventually you get the show.
And it won’t allow subtitles to pass thru.
When it works it’s great.

I’m too old for this

Tried to get my Sony TV to get streaming from PBS, TV instructions said download this. Didn’t know I’d have to pay, but OK. Spent an hour trying to figure it out, then found I’d have to pay for another app to do that. I give up.
I’m sure your English is superb, but how much would it cost you to hire a native English speaker to narrate, for idiots like me who have trouble with a German accent. Sorry.

Did you have trouble understanding the instructions in the app, the tutorial videos on YouTube, the FAQ in the app or the description of the app in the App Store? Or all of it? If you let us know which part you couldn't understand, we'll try to improve it as soon as possible.

If you would like to cast videos from the PBS website, you can do so with our TV Cast app:
(1) Open TV Cast
(2) Connect it to the Sony TV by entering the IP address. You can find the IP address by tapping the Cast icon in the top right corner.
(3) Tap "Web Browser Cast Web Videos".
(4) Search for the video you would like to cast.
(5) Start the video in the TV Cast app.
(6) Tap the link on the button of the screen to start the casting. Select a video quality if necessary.

If you would like to cast videos from the PBS app, you cannot use our TV Cast app, but the Screen Mirroring app:
(1) Open the browser app on your Sony TV.
(2) Enter "tvee.app" or "mirroring.tv".
(3) Open the Screen Mirroring app on your iOS device.
(4) Either tap "Scan" and scan the QR code displayed on our website (tvee.app or mirroring.tv) or enter the ID displayed below the QR code and tap "Connect".
(5) Tap "Screen Mirror Cast Screen" and then "Start Broadcas".
