Not the biggest user of Twitter, but I thought this application supported freedom of speech and expression. I just recently downloaded the app again and couldn’t log into my old account so I started a new one and after following maybe 20 accounts and liking some tweets. I was permanently suspended without any explanation of anything I did, I never reposted shared, commented or made my own posts. I was using it to get informed on news and was permanently suspended or banned and I submitted, an appeal without any reply. I am really frustrated because I thought this app would be as well as a free platform for anyone that didn’t do anything that would be a violation, I’ve never had a problem with Instagram, but on day one I was suspended on X. I didn’t know the rules and I tried starting another account because for me it was important to know what was going on and that was suspended with a few hours after I followed five or six accounts. whoever is running things and approving suspensions needs to be talked to because it’s very hurtful to not be allowed to exercise freedom on this app like advertised

I always really liked Twitter but it was annoying when it started turning ugly with so much angry trolling years ago. Then they implemented a bunch of controls to help make it sane and calm again. Then it became X and now it’s a big giant loud and rude contest again. And that should be fine - I get that it’s a public forum and In don’t really care who owns the platform - but the good thing about it has always been my ability choose my follows and fine tune my feed. But no - logging in defaults to a generic feed that has all kinds of crummy loudmouth negative opinions from people formerly banned from the platform right up top. You have to hit one more button to get to your follows feed. So annoying. And it would be one thing if they were just using an analytic algorithm to lead me to this I might enjoy but they’re not. They’re putting things they know I’ll have to drive reactions which is just rude. I even get alerts whenever the company’s current rude owner posts another dumb opinion - one more thing I didn’t ask for and don’t want. And they just made likes private. Like used to be a good tool to find more accounts to follow organically. Now it’s some creepy fake privacy meant to separate people even more and cut non corporate funding avenues for support. I just plain don’t enjoy this app experience. Keep the corny new name if you insist but change the general interaction functionality back to like 2012 settings and I’ll love it again.

Every new update makes the app worse, less safe, and harder to use for all users. Beyond the censorship & sponsorship only reflecting Musk's political views, now all content is fed into GenAI whether you opt out or not, which is unethical content mining from artists and creators, not to mention infringing on the privacy of those who share pictures of themselves or, god forbid, their children. Why does Musk's AI need access to this, especially from people who want & should have every right to opt out? Removing public likes has also altered the algorithm and functionality of the app, making it impossible to know where the content on your feed is coming from as well as limiting the inherent connectivity of being able to view likes, which has helped connect people on this platform for years. Now, on top of everything, they are effectively removing the functionality of the block and mute functions that are in place specifically for user's safety. It is unreasonable to state that the only option someone has for safety and privacy from even one single harassing user is to fully private their account, which many people use for business or networking and could therefore have a direct effect on their livelihood. This app has been going downhill for years now, but this is truly a danger to any and everyone who uses this platform and needs to be undone immediately.
